Viglacera Corporation - JSC sponsored the event and brought the unique Viglacera Aurora Pavillon space. Inspired by the Aurora Borealis, a natural phenomenon occurring in polar regions of the Earth when gas molecules in the atmosphere interact with solar electrons, Viglacera celebrates Aurora to encourage a lifestyle that protects natural, authentic beauty and preserves what is inherent in the universe.
Where is Viglacera Aurora taking place?
The Viglacera Aurora Pavilion is located in the August 19th Flower Garden, a small garden with a main view overlooking the August Revolution Square and the Hanoi Opera House. It is here that a performance space of light and color will take place, combined with creative ideas from Viglacera's Green building materials ecosystem.
How will the building materials within Viglacera's ecosystem be arranged to express and create a "miniature Aurora Borealis"—a "visual feast" that vividly awakens all five senses?
What did artist Nguyen Duy Nhut and the Viglacera creative team do to transform the August 19th flower garden into the "Viglacera Aurora" pavilion, with the desire to create an image of a vibrant new Viglacera, with products bearing the prestigious National Brand and a rich history of 50 years of development?
The message is "Art for life".
Here's the answer! Choosing the theme "Aurora Borealis" isn't just about simulating the image of this strange natural phenomenon; it's about conveying positive energy, inspiring love and sharing within the community, and focusing attention on the simplest things.
In that spirit, 3D mapping technology is used to create a multi-dimensional art exhibition space, with shimmering colors projected onto modern building materials, with the hope that each viewer can find their own emotions within it. The "Viglacera Aurora" pavilion was created by visual artists Nguyen Duy Nhut and Pham Khiet Tuong from a foundation of six visually impactful artworks titled: Source of Life / Parallel World / Warrior / Multicolored Clouds / Street / Land….
The artwork "Source of Life" is based on the idea of a flower nurtured by pure water, carefully cared for, and flourishing brilliantly. Similarly, this world will be beautiful and sustainable thanks to each person's awareness of green living. The artwork is created using Viglacera's key materials and arranged beams of light shining through transparent, faceted, crystal-like blocks of material, creating unexpected effects.
The artwork, "Warrior," surrounds the Source of Life— like a protective corridor for the source of life, protecting the ozone layer. Drawing inspiration from ancient warrior imagery, the artwork intentionally points back to origins, creating a dialogue between past and present, building a bridge between generations, and forging a new world where old values can be vividly reborn in contemporary society.
The artwork "Earth" is centrally located, serving as the intersection of access routes from the flower garden to the Pavillon. "Earth" comprises 16 tile murals – bearing the signature of Eurotile, a high-end tile brand from Viglacera, highly trusted in the market. Earth is like an inner journey. Beneath the calm surface lies a process of transformation from the old to the new. No one sees this process, but each tiny sprout is evidence of the silent dedication and giving of Earth, like a mother caring for her child. Therefore, placing the artwork "Earth" in the center of the Pavillon space is a tribute to the serene beauty that always shines from within the consciousness of each individual.
The artwork "Parallel Worlds ": The difference is created by the interaction between mirrors constantly moving in the wind. Light is always reflected off these mirrors from multiple angles. Standing within the Parallel Worlds, each of us automatically becomes a part of the artwork, and awakens a powerful desire to explore different perspectives of ourselves. "Parallel Worlds" reminds us that we always carry many responsibilities and challenges, but no one is without them. Each person will surely find like-minded companions, and all obstacles will become commonplace.
The "Multicolor Clouds" artwork is stylized from characteristic images of Hang Trong folk paintings, but its innovative aspect lies in creating vibrant color gradients on a recycled plastic background. The Viglacera Aurora pavilion aims to convey a message: In a world filled with things that seem destined for disposal, there are still ways to minimize environmental damage and give them a new life and value. Inspiration from this world is endless, as long as we keep our hearts open!
The artwork "Street" combines ultra-white glass, terracotta breeze blocks , and a magical lighting effect to "paint" cloud shapes in the city. Here, we find familiar features such as the long, narrow streets characteristic of Hanoi's neighborhoods. These are interwoven and intertwined glimpses of a city rich in tradition alongside the historic Red River. In this bustling city, there are quiet corners contrasting with the vibrant, lively areas. And then, the eyes of each visitor will naturally be drawn to the simple, rustic houses, always filled with the light of happiness.
In summary, the presence of materials such as aerated concrete bricks, steel-cored panels with glass, and various other materials like concrete, stone, recycled plastic, welded iron, glass, stainless steel, wood, and jute rope has created a pavilion that is both artistic and communal. It feels as familiar as the homes we live in. Viglacera is also like that – a green ecosystem with a wide variety of materials, quietly built over 50 years of persistent construction and development, bringing significant breakthroughs to the Vietnamese construction industry and market.
Regarding "Creative Cities" and "Creative Design Festivals"
Hanoi was recognized by UNESCO as a "Creative City" in 2019 within the UNESCO Creative Cities Network. This is a proud recognition of the city's efforts and potential in promoting creativity and sustainable development.
As one of the few cities in Asia to receive this honor, Hanoi has excelled in preserving its cultural heritage and promoting creative industries. With a rich and diverse history, from traditional craft villages to modern art spaces, Hanoi not only celebrates the past but also pioneers innovation for the future. This recognition also connects Hanoi with other creative cities globally, opening up opportunities for international collaboration and learning from experience. As a result, Hanoi can achieve sustainable development and become a significant creative hub in the region and the world.
The Hanoi Creative Design Festival is one of the proofs of the city's spirit of creativity and commitment to maintaining and promoting this title. The creative activities organized not only aim to raise awareness of cultural values but also motivate the community to participate in protecting and promoting cultural heritage.
The Hanoi Creative Design Festival 2024, directed by the Hanoi People's Committee and the Vietnam Association of Architects, will take place from November 9th to 17th, 2024. This event is organized by the Department of Culture and Sports and Architecture Magazine, in collaboration with the UNESCO Office in Hanoi, the Hanoi Youth Union, and many other organizations.
Now in its fourth year, the Creative Design Festival, themed “Creative Crossroads,” will focus on three main pillars: Design, Community, and Creativity. For the first time, the festival will be held along seven historical heritage sites in Hanoi, featuring over 100 creative activities across 12 cultural industry sectors such as architecture, design, fine arts, performance, and film.
The "Creative Crossroads" aims not only to create a creative economic experience route for the city, but also to showcase Hanoi's creative potential, connect and attract creative resources, and awaken the creative spirit of generations of Hanoians. Creative activities will be a dialogue between existing structures and new creative ideas, emphasizing the role of young people in continuing and promoting national values, and fostering Hanoi's development into a national creative hub.
Furthermore, the spirit of creativity will be spread throughout cultural heritage spaces, creative spaces, and traditional craft villages across Hanoi. The Organizing Committee also calls for the participation of organizations and individuals in showcasing and sharing their creative initiatives at the event.
