VinFast launches 4 electric cars.

On January 9th, VinFast, owned by billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong, unexpectedly announced the Green electric vehicle line, specifically designed and optimized for ride-hailing services, comprising four models across different segments.

These are the Minio Green minicar, Herio Green A-segment SUV, Nerio Green C-segment SUV, and Limo Green MPV.

Smaller electric vehicles than the VF 3 have appeared.

Accordingly, the Minio Green is a mini electric car with a two-door design, measuring 3,090 x 1,496 x 1,625 (mm), and a wheelbase of 2,065mm. Compared to the VinFast VF 3, the Minio Green is smaller but still larger than the Wuling Mini EV. With an interior space optimized for four passengers, the Minio Green is expected to be an ideal choice for urban commuting needs. The car is equipped with a 20kW motor and a battery that provides a range of up to 180km per charge. It supports both fast charging (12kW) and standard charging (3.3kW).

In addition, there are two models, Herio Green and Nerio Green, developed from two existing VinFast models: VF 5 and VF e34. Both are five-seater vehicles, optimally designed for ride-hailing services at a reasonable cost.

The Herio Green has a maximum range of 326km on a single charge. Notably, it takes only 33 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%.

Meanwhile, the Nerio Green belongs to the C-segment SUV category with a wheelbase of 2,611mm and an overall length of 4,300mm. Its spacious interior and large cargo area make it suitable for the premium service segment. The Nerio Green boasts a range of over 318km per charge, with a charging time from 10% to 70% in just 27 minutes.

Notably, the Limo Green model introduced by VinFast is a seven-seater MPV with dimensions of 4,730 x 1,870 x 1,690 (mm) and a wheelbase of 2,840mm, surpassing the Mitsubishi Xpander in width and wheelbase. The vehicle is also nearly equivalent to the Toyota Innova in overall length. With a range of up to 470km on a single charge, the Limo Green effectively meets the transportation needs of customers and families.

A new direction for Vietnamese car brands.

VinFast plans to soon launch the Minio Green and Limo Green through its existing distribution network and GSM Company. The Herio Green and Nerio Green models are already being distributed through GSM.

In particular, the company revealed plans to introduce a seven-seater MPV for individual customers in 2025. Alongside its service product line, VinFast is clearly repositioning its VF line for individual customers, with models ranging from VF 3 to VF 9. This strategy reflects flexibility in serving various customer segments and reaffirms the company's commitment to the electric vehicle sector.

According to automotive experts, the mini electric vehicle market in Vietnam is expected to boom in 2025. The primary criteria for buyers in this segment are affordability, a willingness to accept reasonable reductions in options, and the ability to quickly and conveniently charge batteries in urban areas.
