On the afternoon of June 24th, the family and the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association confirmed the news of the passing of photographer Hoang Thach Van.

Photographer Hoang Thach Van is currently the Vice President of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists and Head of the Southern Office of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists in Ho Chi Minh City.
Born on October 26, 1959, he was awarded the EVAPA/G (Gold Excellence Artist of Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists) title – the highest honor bestowed by the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists – in 2014.

In 2018, Hoang Thach Van's Wa-Ha Festival photo series won the Special Prize in the Photo Series category at the Heritage Photography Award - Journey of Heritage (an award organized by Heritage Magazine ( Vietnam Airlines )).

Photographer Hoang Thach Van began his photography career at the Gia Dinh Photography Club (part of the Ho Chi Minh City Photography Association). His works focus on nature, the beauty of the country's landscapes, and the beauty of working people. He has been involved with many photography awards in Ho Chi Minh City and has served for many years as an organizer or judge of the Ho Chi Minh City Traditional Art Photography Festival (which has now been held for 48 seasons).
