In anticipation of the 2026 World Cup finals to be held in the US, Canada, and Mexico, on June 5th, the sports platform Pickong introduced the song and dance "Kick Pass Dance" at an event held in Seoul, aiming to create a global football cheering movement for all ages.
According to the VNA correspondent in South Korea, the organizers said that the "Kick Pass Dance" is built from simple movements that mimic two basic football skills: kicking and passing, making it easy for participants to learn and immerse themselves in the World Cup festive atmosphere.
The dance is expected to spread across digital platforms in the form of a relay challenge, helping to connect football fans worldwide .
Speaking at the event, Chairman Pickong Jang Hee Chan said that the World Cup is the biggest sporting festival on the planet, taking place every four years, and is an opportunity for everyone to share joy through sports, music , and culture.
He expressed his desire to introduce the "Kick Pass Dance" to a global audience, thereby bringing joy, solidarity, and connection to football fans.
Former pop singer Kim Heung Kook praised Pickong's efforts and those of Chairman Jang Hee Chan personally over the years to develop this sports platform.
He stated that the event, held ahead of the 2026 World Cup, holds special significance and expressed hope that domestic and international media outlets would contribute to promoting this initiative more widely to the international community.

At the event, Woo Hee Yong, known as one of the pioneers in bringing Korean freestyle football to the world, said that the freestyle football movement has developed in approximately 150 countries.
According to him, South Korea is one of the important cradles of this sport, and the freestyle football community is continuing its efforts to gain wider recognition on the international sports stage. He also expressed his hope that the Pickong project will receive strong support so that it can reach a global audience.
The event also featured performances by top South Korean freestyle football athletes and the K-pop boy group Kokoon, consisting of members Joo Won, Won Gi, Sae Am, and Jung Hoon, who are gaining international attention through their "Kokoon Show."
The organizers believe that the “Kick Pass Dance” aligns with the trend of digitizing sports cheering activities and is consistent with FIFA's direction of expanding the digital experience for fans at the 2026 World Cup.
