In accordance with the plan of the Hanoi City People's Committee and the Hanoi City Police Department on the implementation of a campaign to collect DNA samples from relatives of martyrs whose information has not been identified, the My Duc Commune Police have organized the collection of DNA samples from relatives of martyrs whose information has not been identified in the commune.
Over 300 relatives of fallen soldiers in My Duc commune have had their DNA samples collected for comparison and identification of the remains of soldiers whose identities are unknown.

At the sampling area in the My Duc Commune Police Station, police officers, medical personnel , youth union members, women's association members, and veterans were busy guiding each person in filling out information and completing their forms. Elderly people with mobility difficulties were assisted to the sampling table. Every procedure was carried out carefully, scientifically, and thoughtfully.
Chairman of My Duc Commune People's Committee, Nguyen Quang Duong, shared that the collection of DNA samples from relatives of fallen soldiers in My Duc commune not only applies scientific and technological achievements to the work of showing gratitude to the fallen, but also ignites hope for reunion for hundreds of families who have been waiting for decades. Through the implementation of DNA sample collection, My Duc commune is determined to effectively implement the Party and State's policy on searching for, gathering, and identifying fallen soldiers whose identities are still unknown, contributing to alleviating the pain of war and fulfilling the aspirations of the families of fallen soldiers and the people.
“My Duc commune has mobilized the entire political system, reviewed relatives, supported the elderly, and prepared all necessary facilities to ensure that sample collection is quick, accurate, and convenient. Each DNA sample today is another opportunity for fallen soldiers to return to their families and hometowns,” Mr. Nguyen Quang Duong emphasized.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Duong, to ensure thorough preparation for DNA sampling, My Duc commune mobilized police, military, mass organizations, and local officials several days in advance to go to each village and each family to review and guide them in completing the necessary documents, ensuring that no eligible individuals were overlooked for sampling.
According to regulations, DNA sampling is conducted on the biological mother, maternal grandmother, half-siblings, and many other maternal relatives of the fallen soldier to ensure the highest accuracy in the identification process. After collection, all data will be entered into the national DNA database to be compared with samples of fallen soldiers' remains being collected at cemeteries nationwide.
