Tra Co commune (Tan Phu district) has chosen to implement a model new rural area, with the outstanding criteria focusing on culture and tourism.

The locality leverages its tourism strengths to contribute to economic development in the commune. Specifically, the commune has the Suoi Mo Tourist Area, a popular destination for sightseeing, entertainment, dining, and relaxation, attracting many visitors. It is estimated that this tourist area receives approximately 100,000 visitors per year. The Suoi Mo Tourist Area features the Hoa Anh Dao restaurant, a 2-star standard establishment, and accommodation with 30 rooms meeting tourist service standards.

The commune also focuses on investing in infrastructure for cultural activities. It has four hamlet cultural centers and nine non-governmental cultural and sports facilities, all of which are operating effectively. Each hamlet in the commune has at least one cultural and artistic team or club that operates regularly and effectively.
