The four quarter-final pairings for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations have been determined.

Following a series of dramatic round of 16 matches, the list of the eight strongest teams to advance to the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) has been revealed.

The AFCON 2025 quarter-finals witnessed the dominance of African football powerhouses. Defending champions Ivory Coast and Egypt, the most successful team in history (7 titles), secured their places in the next round.

Alongside them are strong contenders such as Senegal, Cameroon, Nigeria, Algeria, host nation Morocco, and the "dark horse" Mali.

To advance to this round, Mohamed Salah's Egypt narrowly overcame Benin after extra time. Meanwhile, Ivory Coast asserted their dominance as champions by defeating Burkina Faso 3-0. And Mali pulled off a surprise victory over Tunisia on penalties despite playing with ten men for most of the match.

The highlight of the quarter-finals is the clash, dubbed an "early final," between Egypt and Ivory Coast. This is a showdown between the most traditional team and the reigning champion of the tournament.

Another highly anticipated match is the clash between hosts Morocco and Cameroon. Morocco is riding high after their historic World Cup performance. However, Cameroon, with five AFCON titles, remains a formidable opponent.
