In 2024, Thanh Hoa province aims to welcome 13.8 million tourists, with total tourism revenue reaching 32,387 billion VND. This is a significant figure, considering the numerous challenges currently facing the tourism industry nationwide, and in Thanh Hoa in particular. Therefore, prioritizing the development of new tourism products remains a key solution to achieve this goal.

In recent years, Thanh Hoa's tourism industry has continuously innovated and improved its three main product lines: beach tourism, cultural tourism, and community-based ecotourism. In addition, many new tourism products and services have been developed and put into operation to serve tourists, such as the beach square, water music shows, pedestrian streets, night markets, street art performances, and mural villages (Sam Son City); the Nghi Son - Me Island tourist route and experiential tourism (Nghi Son); the Hai Tien - Ne Island waterway tourist route and paragliding (Hoang Hoa); and farm tourism, camping, and glamping in Thanh Hoa City and the districts of Quang Xuong, Dong Son, and Yen Dinh... Notably, in 2023, Thanh Hoa's tourism was quite successful with its event tourism product. With the successful organization of more than 70 cultural, sports, and tourism events, the province has attracted a large number of tourists to several tourist areas and destinations throughout all four seasons, contributing to reducing the seasonality – which has been a limitation of Thanh Hoa tourism for a long time.

At the conference announcing the tourism stimulus program and consulting on the completion of the "Thanh Hoa Tourism - Four Seasons' Flavors" product, held in March 2024, many domestic travel businesses stated that Thanh Hoa tourism is increasingly asserting its attractiveness to tourists thanks to the development of new tourism products. They also pointed out that while previously tours connecting tourists to Thanh Hoa mainly focused on beach tourism, in recent years, cultural, historical, and spiritual tourism tours, as well as community-based ecotourism, have been widely embraced by tourists. In particular, Thanh Hoa is one of the localities that most quickly adopts new tourism trends such as camping and glamping, healing tourism, and wellness tourism.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Director of the National Tourism Administration Nguyen Le Phuc emphasized: In recent years, Thanh Hoa has been one of the localities with many preferential policies focusing on tourism development. Thanks to this, Thanh Hoa's tourism has made strong progress in both quantity and quality in the North Central region, becoming a bright spot on the Vietnamese tourism map. Thanh Hoa's tourism products and services are increasingly diverse and abundant. In the coming time, the province needs to continue improving existing tourism products and developing new, high-quality tourism products, focusing on experiential aspects for tourists. Along with that, it should strengthen linkages with key tourism destinations such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City... and some neighboring provinces and cities to promote the development of new, interconnected tourism products to attract domestic and international tourists.

Building on the achievements of the past year, in 2024, Thanh Hoa's tourism industry is focusing on renewing existing products while adding new services and offerings. It is expected that in April, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will coordinate with relevant units and experts to conduct surveys and develop adventure tourism products in Ba Thuoc, Quan Hoa, and Thuong Xuan districts, with the aim of soon launching them to serve tourists. In addition, the province will continue to maintain and develop event tourism products, with 145 cultural, sports, and tourism events to be organized at tourist areas and destinations throughout the province. The goal is to successfully achieve the tourism development targets for 2024 and to have Thanh Hoa among the leading tourism provinces in the country by 2025.
