According to observations at several electric motorbike dealerships in Can Tho City, electric motorbikes have gradually become more popular among consumers since mid-2025. Particularly recently, with the significant fluctuations in gasoline prices, the electric motorbike market in Can Tho has seen strong growth due to increased consumer demand. Mr. Do Hoang Dong, Manager of the VinFast Can Tho electric motorbike store, said: "From March 2026 to the present, the number of customers coming to inquire about and purchase electric motorbikes has increased sharply. The customer base is diverse, ranging from students to office workers... Models priced around 20 million VND/unit are attracting a lot of customer interest."

The electric motorcycle market currently offers a wide variety of models and styles due to the participation of many domestic and international brands, providing numerous choices such as VinFast, Dat Bike, Pega, Yadea, Dibao, Honda, Yamaha, etc. The range of electric motorcycles is extensive, from models optimized for students and urban commuters to those meeting the needs of frequent travel. Prices are clearly differentiated, allowing consumers to easily choose a vehicle that suits their needs and financial capabilities. This includes affordable models for basic transportation, mid-range multi-purpose models, and high-end products with high performance and smart, modern features. Electric motorcycle manufacturers are investing heavily, continuously launching new models; expanding their sales and after-sales service networks; investing in charging stations and battery swapping services; improving battery quality, and increasing the driving range per charge. Increased speed design... As the demand for green and cost-effective transportation grows, electric motorcycles are becoming the choice of many families. However, choosing a truly safe, durable, and stylish vehicle is not simple. This requires users to research information, avoid following trends, and accurately determine their needs to avoid waste.

According to market surveys, electric motorcycles are divided into several groups. First, there are electric motorcycles that require a driver's license and those that do not. Electric motorcycles that do not require a license typically have a maximum engine power of under 4kW and a maximum speed not exceeding 50km/h, and are used by individuals aged 16 and older. This segment offers a diverse range of models, integrating many modern safety and convenience technologies. These models have one fixed battery and a second, equally sized, removable battery that can be stored in a compartment under the seat. This design increases the range and allows for convenient replacement. However, users will have to spend extra money to buy the additional battery, and charging time for both batteries is longer; placing the extra battery in the storage compartment also reduces storage space.

Electric motorcycles with interchangeable batteries are gaining popularity due to their convenience and long-term cost savings. The battery swapping model focuses on minimizing charging time. Users can simply replace the battery at dedicated stations in minutes to continue their journey, instead of waiting hours for a full charge. This advantage makes electric motorcycles suitable for continuous operation needs such as delivery services, ride-hailing services, or long-distance daily travel. However, the battery swapping system is dependent on a network of stations. When the system is not widespread, users may have difficulty finding a place to swap batteries, especially outside of central areas. Furthermore, using electric motorcycles with interchangeable batteries requires users to factor in the cost of battery rental and the fee for each battery swap at a station.

The electric motorcycle market is undergoing shifts in product offerings and infrastructure to enhance convenience and meet consumer needs. Therefore, before deciding to buy an electric motorcycle, users should carefully consider the types of batteries available, based on their travel needs, frequency of use, convenience level, and long-term cost optimization. This will ensure a stable and sustainable riding experience in the long term. To extend the lifespan of electric motorcycle batteries, users should avoid completely draining the battery and use a charger with the correct specifications. After continuous operation, allow the battery to cool down before charging to prevent overheating. To ensure quality and long-term stability, users should choose electric motorcycles from reputable brands with reliable service and warranty systems.
