Within the grounds of the Vinh Xuong Commune People's Committee, a simple yet heartwarming "zero-cost supermarket" has been set up. Here, there are no price tags, no haggling, only warm, loving smiles. Women carefully line up, holding vouchers distributed by the organizers. Each person can choose a number of essential items for their family, completely free of charge.

According to the Provincial Women's Union, to create this special supermarket, the union and other units coordinated very closely, from receiving and sorting to arranging goods. Throughout the program, union officials were always present to provide dedicated guidance, clearly demonstrating their core role in caring for poor and disadvantaged women during Tet (Lunar New Year). The goal of the "zero-cost supermarket" program is not only to provide material support but also to enhance the spiritual value for vulnerable women; helping beneficiaries feel respected and eliminating feelings of inferiority when receiving support.

From early morning, a large number of members, women, and poor people in difficult circumstances were present. Some wore worn-out clothes, others carried small children, their eyes filled with both shyness and anticipation. For many women here, Tet (Lunar New Year) sometimes only consists of a few kilograms of rice and a simple banh tet (traditional Vietnamese rice cake). Holding some essential items she had just selected from the "zero-cost supermarket," Mrs. Tran Thi Duoc, a resident of Vinh Xuong commune, said: "Hearing that the women's association organized a 'zero-cost supermarket' to support members, poor women, and those in difficult circumstances, we were very happy. Thanks to this, my family will have a more fulfilling Tet this year." Carrying her gift package out of the zero-cost supermarket, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung happily shared: "I've been worrying about Tet these past few days and haven't been able to buy anything for the house. Today, receiving rice, sugar... I'm so happy. I thank the local government, the women's association, and benefactors for helping my family have a warm Tet."

In one corner of the stall, female officers and border guards kindly guided each person in choosing essential goods. Regardless of the quantity, each gift given contained respect and love. Nguyen Thi Anh Dao, President of the Women's Union of Vinh Xuong commune, said: "The 'Zero-Cost Supermarket' is very meaningful in boosting the morale of our members, women, and poor people in difficult circumstances in the border region, making the spring season more prosperous."

Vinh Xuong is a border commune, and the lives of some residents are still very difficult. The women here mainly work as traders, laborers, and fishermen along the river, with unstable incomes. The "Zero-Cost Supermarket" program is organized not only to help members, women, the poor, and those in difficult circumstances have better conditions to celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year) but also to spread the spirit of solidarity and mutual support in this frontline area of the country.
