
In the chilly weather, the "Morning Sunshine" vehicle of the Da Nang Polytechnic Social Work Team rolled into Hamlet 3, Tra Tap Commune. More than 120 volunteers brought with them enthusiasm, ready to share with the people in the highlands.
Over the two days of the program, many projects and tasks were quickly implemented by the volunteers. Accordingly, the team constructed 120m² of concrete for the schoolyard and cleared and poured concrete for a 20m section of road in front of Tong Pua school; they also decorated and installed bookshelves for the students.
In addition, the team organized a "zero-cost" market, distributed 10 gift packages to local residents and 16 gift packages to disadvantaged students, and held cultural and sports activities to strengthen the bond between volunteers and the local people. According to Nguyen Van Tan, team leader of the Da Nang Polytechnic Social Work Team, the total cost of the program was nearly 32 million VND, contributing to sharing and bringing the warmth of spring to the people in the highlands.
Meanwhile, the Food Technology Club implemented the "Spring Filled with Joy 9" program in Ben Hien village, Ben Hien commune. Accordingly, volunteers renovated, painted, and cleared the grounds of the village cultural center, built steps and a prefabricated kitchen at the cultural center. They also painted and renovated houses for disadvantaged households in the village.
In addition, the club also carried out youth projects at the kindergarten, renovating the playground to create a safe and friendly learning environment for local children. The club also organized a cultural and artistic exchange night, distributed 25 gifts to impoverished households and 5 gifts to high-achieving students; and opened a "zero-cost" stall to serve people's Tet (Lunar New Year) shopping needs. Notably, volunteers also dedicated time to organizing reunion meals and visiting elderly people who are living alone and in need.
The journey of bringing the warmth of spring by students from the University of Technology (Da Nang University) is not limited to Da Nang but extends to other provinces in the region. The Youth Club of the Faculty of Thermal Engineering recently had a memorable trip to three villages: K'Xêêng, A'Lua, and A'Đâu (Mai Giang commune, Nghe An province). There, the club installed five solar-powered streetlights in K'Xêêng village. In addition, they donated 19 gifts to 19 disadvantaged households; and organized the cooking of 100 meals for the villagers and children...
Similarly, the Student Counseling Team carried out the "Warm Ice - Peaceful Spring" campaign in Bang village (Thanh Bong commune, Quang Ngai province). During their 5-day, 4-night journey, nearly 50 volunteers installed 10 solar-powered lights, paved rural roads with concrete, and completed 5 community service projects.

At the same time, many social welfare activities are being implemented to support poor students, disadvantaged households, families of war invalids and martyrs, and elderly people living alone...
Representatives from the Youth Union of the University of Technology (Da Nang University) stated that the "Spring Volunteer" program in 2026 took place under unfavorable weather conditions, but this did not diminish the enthusiasm. Over 1,300 volunteers from 23 student unions, clubs, teams, and groups carried out diverse activities, spanning from urban and rural areas to remote mountainous regions, with a total budget exceeding 523 million VND.
The "Spring Volunteer" program is an annual activity of students and youth union members of the university every time Tet (Lunar New Year) comes around, demonstrating the connection between students and the community, and is a clear testament to the pioneering spirit and social responsibility of the young people of the Polytechnic University.
