Deserving of the title "youth leader"

Each individual has made their mark in a different field, but these youth "leaders" all possess a desire to contribute, enthusiasm, and a constant drive for innovation in implementing new models and activities, contributing to the development of the Youth Union and youth movements.

As a leading figure in the movement at his school, Phan Manh Tien, Secretary of the Youth Union of Cao Nguyen Practice High School, along with the Executive Committee of the Youth Union, launched and implemented widespread emulation campaigns among students, such as: organizing school-level Olympic competitions, selecting talented individuals to create a pool of candidates for student excellence competitions; and launching the "Good Study Week" emulation campaign to motivate and encourage students to strive in their studies.

To create a good environment for students to develop, the school's Youth Union also organizes cultural and artistic activities, sports , life skills training, and programs such as "Supporting Students During Exams," "Volunteer Saturday," and "Red Phoenix Flower Campaign."

Mr. Tien shared: “Besides having a solid foundation in academics, participating in community activities helps union members and students gain a better understanding of real-life situations and become more aware of their position and role in the community. From there, they actively study and train to become useful citizens for society.”

Through these activities, in the 2023-2024 school year, one student from the school participated in and won second prize in the 4th Dak Lak Provincial Student English Olympic Competition; and one student won a consolation prize in the "Tinh Hoa Viet Nam" (Essence of Vietnam) competition organized by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

Not only is she a dynamic Youth Union "leader," Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc - Secretary of the Youth Union of Tan An Ward (Buon Ma Thuot City) - is a pioneer in implementing digital transformation, gradually integrating information technology into Youth Union work and daily life.

Ms. Ngoc, along with the Ward Youth Union Executive Committee, advised on and implemented models such as "No Writing Day," "Online Day," and "No Appointment Day"; established and maintained volunteer teams such as "Youth Shock Teams Participating in Administrative Reform" and "Community Digital Technology Teams." Through these initiatives, they assisted residents in registering accounts, submitting online public service applications, making cashless payments, digitizing civil registration records, activating electronic identification, and supporting online applications for identity cards for children under 14 years old in the locality.

Applying digital transformation to economic development, Ms. Ngoc conceived and supported the construction of a collective economic model for the youth cooperative "Technology-based Vehicles"; simultaneously connecting with Dong Tien Transport Cooperative and other transportation and delivery applications to create jobs for young people in the area.

According to Ms. Ngoc, digital transformation is an important task that youth union members need to carry out and play a core role in. Thanks to digital technology, the policies, laws, and regulations of the Party, State, and local authorities reach the people more quickly and easily. Therefore, every activity implemented by the Ward Youth Union aims to create positive social impacts, gain public support, and generate a strong ripple effect in society.

Having participated in numerous environmental protection projects and community activities, Ms. Do Thi Kim Ngoc, Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Dak Lak College of Education, always hopes to spread a "green" lifestyle to everyone around her.

Mr. Phan Manh Tien, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc, and Ms. Do Thi Kim Ngoc are three individuals from Dak Lak province who were honored to receive the Ly Tu Trong Award in 2025, presented by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.

Without hesitation, in 2023, Ms. Ngoc came up with the idea to implement the "Used Battery Collection Station - Green Plant Giveaway" model.

To create a ripple effect, she planned to organize the program during holidays, anniversaries, peak volunteer days for building new rural areas and civilized urban areas, and environmental protection activities at public places in the city and in disadvantaged villages and hamlets in the province.

To date, this model has attracted more than 600 youth union members, young people, and citizens to participate, collecting over 50 kg of used batteries, and is currently being expanded to other youth union branches and associations to continue implementing it in the unit's activities and programs.

Furthermore, to convey environmental protection messages to the community, Ms. Ngoc advised the school's Youth Union to coordinate with local organizations and associations to participate in raising awareness in residential areas about the harmful effects of environmental pollution and climate change; and the importance of living "green" through practical actions such as planting trees; recycling plastic bottles; not littering; and using environmentally friendly products.

"Through these simple actions, we want to help everyone and every family live more 'green'. Through these activities, we hope that union members, young people, students, and university students will gradually raise their awareness, actions, and responsibility regarding practicing green skills and behaviors, promoting a green lifestyle, and inspiring and spreading beneficial green lifestyles to the community," Ms. Ngoc shared.
