Following the reorganization of the grassroots healthcare system, Kim Dien Commune Health Station quickly stabilized its organization and structure to implement its professional tasks. Currently, the unit has 22 staff members, including 6 doctors, providing primary healthcare to over 6,200 residents in the locality.
Kim Dien is a mountainous commune with a large geographical area and difficult transportation in many regions. The lives of the people mainly depend on agricultural production, and the percentage of poor and near-poor households remains high. The area has a large population of ethnic minorities, so the work of disseminating information, providing healthcare, and preventing diseases faces many obstacles.

To ensure that people have access to basic health services, the staff of Kim Dien Commune Health Station regularly monitor the area, implementing national health programs, expanded immunization programs, disease prevention and control, maternal and child health care, management of non-communicable diseases, health insurance medical examinations and treatment, and raising awareness about disease prevention and control among the people.
Mr. Cao Binh from Hoa Luong village shared: “Even though we live in a remote area, we always feel secure knowing that the commune's health station is there when we are sick. Our people always receive thorough and dedicated healthcare.”
Thanks to the dedication of the medical team, primary healthcare in Kim Dien commune has been steadily improving. Residents have developed a habit of regular health check-ups and proactively preventing diseases to ensure their own health and that of their families.
One of the outstanding activities of Kim Dien Commune Health Station is the implementation of the "Home Healthcare" program. This model is highly appreciated by the people for its practicality and humanity. Every week, the health station's task force goes to the grassroots level to visit, examine, and monitor the health of single-parent households, the elderly, people with chronic diseases, or those with mobility difficulties.
Besides examining patients and dispensing medicine, healthcare workers also provide guidance on nutrition, health care, and disease prevention for each individual. "As an elderly person with difficulty traveling, I am deeply moved to have doctors come to my home to examine me, provide medicine, and guide me on health care," shared Mrs. Dinh Thi Can from Da Nang village.
Home visits for medical check-ups not only contribute to improving the quality of community healthcare but also build trust and a stronger bond between healthcare professionals and the people.
Dr. Ngo Thi Thu Ly, Director of Kim Dien Commune Health Station, said: “Although working conditions are still difficult, the staff of the station always uphold a high sense of responsibility and dedication to their work. In particular, the “Home Healthcare” program has been implemented with the desire that all residents in the area can access healthcare services.”
Despite its achievements, the Kim Dien Commune Health Station is currently facing difficulties regarding infrastructure and medical equipment. The office building is dilapidated and lacks functional rooms for professional work. Many medical equipment items are outdated, affecting the quality of examination, diagnosis, and treatment for the people. "We hope to receive attention from all levels and sectors to invest in infrastructure and equipment, creating conditions for the health station to improve the quality of service for the people," added Mr. Dinh Minh Nam, Vice Chairman of the Kim Dien Commune People's Committee.
