The workshop was organized to maximize the opportunities and advantages arising from the shift from traditional to non-traditional production and business methods through the development of platform technology and digital technology. This helps businesses build sustainable business plans and strategies, enhance competitiveness, optimize management processes, reduce operating costs, create economic value for businesses, and contribute to local economic growth.

In his opening remarks at the workshop, Mr. Le Tri Ha, Director of the Department of Information and Communications, affirmed: Digital transformation is not only a strategic choice but has become a vital factor for the survival and development of businesses in the digital age. Businesses must constantly update, innovate, improve, and embrace new things to keep up with the trends of the times. Therefore, business leaders need to have a breakthrough mindset and a long-term strategy for the digital transformation process in all business activities, including management, production, business, and participation in the global supply chain.

Recognizing the importance of digital transformation, Yen Bai province has made efforts to implement, develop, and promulgate mechanisms and policies to support businesses in carrying out digital transformation.

To date, 100% of businesses in the province have participated in using electronic tax declaration and payment services; applying business methods through electronic activities and e-commerce at different levels. 100% of businesses in the province have been informed about policies and programs supporting digital transformation; over 2,000 businesses and cooperatives have participated in training to improve awareness and skills in digital transformation...

Experts in the field of digital transformation and representatives from several businesses in the province participated in the talk show "Barriers to Digital Transformation in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises - Solutions to Overcome Them".

At the workshop, delegates shared information on policies and strategies to support digital transformation in businesses; understanding digital transformation to promote business development; and artificial intelligence and its applications in businesses.

In addition, several exemplary businesses shared their digital transformation stories; how to build a smart factory; and successful "transformation" and "digitalization" methods for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The highlight of the workshop was the talk show "Barriers to Digital Transformation in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises - Solutions to Overcome Them". Here, experts in the field of digital transformation and representatives from several businesses in the province discussed, shared opinions, perspectives, experiences, and provided necessary knowledge to clarify the challenges and barriers that small and medium-sized enterprises face in the digital transformation process.

According to Ms. Bui Thi Suu, President of the Business Association and Director of Hoa Binh Co., Ltd.: "The common difficulties and obstacles for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) today are awareness, knowledge, and digital skills; digital transformation is a new issue and has not received adequate attention. Besides, the amount of funding allocated by businesses for digital transformation is still modest and limited." Regarding this issue, Mr. Le Nguyen Truong Giang from the Institute for Digital Transformation Strategy believes that support for businesses in digital transformation is limited, not in terms of cost but in terms of investment. Immediately, the Institute for Digital Transformation will develop a plan to support training for businesses on digital transformation and access to digital transformation funding. Businesses also need to raise their internal awareness of the importance of digital transformation in promoting efficient production and business operations. From the perspective of a software provider, Mr. Bui Trung Thanh - an expert in digital transformation solutions for business management - believes that the first essential issue for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Yen Bai province is to raise awareness about digital transformation, before moving on to the use of software applications.
