Fansipan Mentioning Lao Cai inevitably brings up Sa Pa and Fansipan. Sa Pa-Fansipan has become a hallmark of Lao Cai tourism. Every year, Fansipan attracts hundreds of thousands of domestic and international visitors. The cable car and train systems make it easy for tourists to reach the "Roof of Indochina". However, many foreign visitors prefer to conquer Fansipan by trekking. Fansipan is part of the Hoang Lien Son range, located about 9 km from Sa Pa town and straddling the provinces of Lao Cai and Lai Chau. When talking about beautiful mountains in Lao Cai, Fansipan is a must-mention. It boasts verdant forests, floating white clouds, and a harmonious natural landscape, creating an extraordinarily picturesque scene.

Ngu Chi Son is in Sa Pa district and consists of five peaks. It offers breathtaking views with clear blue skies, lush green forests, and floating white clouds creating a magical atmosphere. Cloud-chasers often visit Ngu Chi Son, hoping to witness a sea of clouds at dawn. Pu Luong Another famous high peak in the Hoang Lien Son range is Pu Luong, standing at 2,985 meters. Pu Luong offers a unique beauty. Standing on its peak feels like being in a different realm, divided by a thick layer of white clouds. This layer separates you from the base, creating two distinct worlds: "heaven" and "earth". The trek to conquer Pu Luong is certainly more challenging than Fansipan. The Hoang Lien Son range in Lao Cai also boasts other notable peaks such as Lung Cung (2,913 meters), Xi Giơ Pao (2,876 meters), Sa Phinh (2,817 meters), and Gia Lan (1,458 meters). Nhiu Co San Nhiu Co San is the sixth highest peak in Lao Cai, located in Bat Xat district, standing at 2,965 meters. Locally known as "Buffalo Horn Mountain", it is named because, on sunny days, the mountain range resembles a buffalo horn piercing the sky when viewed from Ha Nhi villages.

Lao Than Lao Than, known as the roof of Y Ty (Bat Xat district), stands at 2,860 meters. The journey to this peak is not overly difficult but offers a fascinating experience with its majestic, dreamy, and ethereal beauty. In a radiant afternoon, the sun's rays piercing through white clouds create a mystical, shimmering light. This natural scenery is unforgettable.

Con Voi Mountain Range The Con Voi mountain range is in Bao Yen district. It separates the Thao River valley from the Chay River valley. Con Voi is one of the major mountain ranges in Northeast Vietnam, dividing the Red River from the Chay River as they flow through Lao Cai province. According to scientific documents, Con Voi Mountain is over 1,000 meters high, 200 km long, and 10 km wide, covered in dense primary forests. Beneath the forest canopy are layers of fallen leaves, babbling brooks, and beautiful small caves formed in the rocks. This is certainly a stunning mountain in Lao Cai that you should explore.

The Hoang Lien Son and Con Voi ranges run parallel to the poetic Red and Chay Rivers, home to ethnic communities in Lao Cai and Yen Bai for generations. Each mountain has intriguing, captivating stories that invite exploration by both domestic and international visitors.  Co Tien Mountain Co Tien Mountain is in Muong Khuong town, Bac Ha district. Although it is less frequented than other beautiful mountains in Lao Cai, Co Tien has a unique beauty, exuding tranquility. From the north of Si Ma Cai district to Bac Ha, you can see Co Tien Mountain standing alone, shyly hidden in floating clouds. At 1,600 meters above sea level, Co Tien Mountain's majestic beauty seems to embrace the vast sky. It is a special highlight in the "white plateau". Additionally, the eastern part of Lao Cai province features the majestic Tay Con Linh range extending from Ha Giang province to Bac Ha - Si Ma Cai, forming peaks like Ta Cu Ty (1,856 meters), Quan Than San (1,800 meters), and Lau Thi Ngai (1,638 meters).

Especially in Bac Ha town, Ba Me Con Mountain and Co Tien Mountain create a picturesque landscape for this famous tourist area, tied to the legend of their formation. The mountains of Lao Cai, and the entire Northwest region, create stunning landscapes every morning and evening. These "tourism products" are unique to Northern Vietnam, attracting tourists and artists who come to explore and create timeless literary and artistic works. If you visit Lao Cai, don’t just explore and enjoy Sa Pa. The beautiful mountains of Lao Cai are destinations you shouldn't miss on your journey to discover nature’s wonders, each with its own unique charm and character./.
