Vintage dresses from the archives of Chanel, Balenciaga, Versace, and Dior helped a host of stars score points at Cannes over the years.

In anticipation of the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, taking place from May 16th to 27th in France, Vogue highlighted some of the most beautiful vintage designs. The magazine praised the short Balmain Haute Couture gown worn by Angelina Jolie at the 2007 screening of *A Mighty Heart* .
