29 projects to serve the organization of the APEC 2027 Conference.

According to Deputy Head of the Government Office Pham Manh Cuong, after reviewing the list of proposed investment projects serving the APEC 2027 Conference and some specific policies, Kien Giang province proposed a list of 29 necessary projects to serve the conference with a total estimated investment of approximately 220,088 billion VND.

On the afternoon of May 4th, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung chaired a meeting with ministries, agencies, and Kien Giang province regarding projects to support the organization of the APEC 2027 Conference in Phu Quoc City.

According to Deputy Head of the Government Office Pham Manh Cuong, after reviewing the list of proposed investment projects serving the APEC 2027 Conference and some specific policies, Kien Giang province proposed a list of 29 necessary projects to serve the conference with a total estimated investment of approximately 220,088 billion VND, of which central government budget accounts for 70% - about 17,502.2 billion VND, local budget about 23,913.8 billion VND, and social mobilization about 156,812 billion VND.

Why was Phu Quoc chosen as the venue for APEC 2027?

Of the 29 projects, categorized by funding source, 15 are state-funded and 2 are public-private partnership (PPP) projects. Categorized by urgency and investment selection mechanism, 13 are urgent public investment projects, and 16 projects require special investor selection. Regarding the balance of local budget funds, Kien Giang commits to allocating sufficient resources to implement these projects.
