The Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee has just issued a conclusion on the policy of establishing urban administrative units in the city.
Accordingly, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee unanimously agreed on the principle of establishing urban administrative units in the city (establishing wards based on the existing communes) for 29 communes that meet all 9/9 criteria as stipulated in Article 5 of Resolution 112/2025 of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on the standards of administrative units.
The Standing Committee of the City Party Committee assigned the Party Committee of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to lead the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City in directing the Department of Internal Affairs and other relevant departments and agencies to coordinate with the People's Committees of the 29 communes to finalize the Project on establishing urban administrative units, and submit it to the competent authority for consideration and decision.
Members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee in charge of specific areas are required to pay attention to communes that do not meet the criteria for establishing urban administrative units, in order to support, share, assist, and create favorable conditions for these communes in carrying out their tasks.
The 29 communes are urban administrative units within Ho Chi Minh City, including: An Nhon Tay, Binh Hung, Binh Chanh, Ba Diem, Binh Loi, Binh My, Dong Thanh, Hoc Mon, Hung Long, Long Hai, Long Dien, Nha Be, Ho Tram, Ngai Giao, Tan An Hoi, Tan Nhut, Tan Vinh Loc, Vinh Loc, Xuan Thoi Son, Thai My, Cu Chi, Dat Do, Can Gio, Hiep Phuoc, Phu Hoa Dong, Chau Pha, Long Son, Bau Bang, and Bac Tan Uyen.
