The update is being rolled out for free through the Gemini app. According to Google, the new feature helps shorten the shopping journey, from brainstorming ideas to comparing and choosing the right product in a single chat window.

Instead of browsing through multiple websites or making manual comparisons, users can describe products and desired needs using natural language, similar to asking friends for their opinions.

Some examples of shopping suggestion requests on Gemini include: "Birthday gift suggestion for mom, who likes yoga and skincare, budget around 3 million VND", "Suggestion for an iPhone with 3 cameras, must be new", or "Suggestion for a toy for a 3-year-old who likes watching movies".

Gemini's shopping features are based on the Shopping Graph data ecosystem, which includes over 50 billion product listings and 2 billion products updated every hour. Google says this system helps ensure accurate and timely information.
