"Flight cancellations aren't the only thing you should be wary of when preparing for a trip . Pickpocketing isn't the only concern during your vacation either; you should also be vigilant about your cybersecurity," warns Panda Security, a Spanish cybersecurity software company.
4 things to keep in mind when using your iPhone or Android phone while traveling.
Use free Wi-Fi.
Public Wi-Fi is now available in restaurants, airports, hotels, and other locations, but be cautious as it can pose several risks.
"Hackers have many ways to monitor traffic entering and leaving public Wi-Fi networks. This traffic can include everything from personal passwords to social security numbers," Panda Security warns.

A Spanish cybersecurity company noted: "If you plan on using public Wi-Fi, remember that everything you're sharing on your smartphone while connected to the network could be something you're inadvertently communicating to a third party."
Accessing public computers
Public computers are sometimes available in hotels and airports for travelers. However, this always comes with risks, so please exercise caution when using these computers.
Panda Security warns: "Visitors should think carefully before entering sensitive information or connecting USB smart devices to public computers. Hackers can record all the information you enter and infect your connected device."
Social network
Tourists often take photos and post them on social media sites like Zalo, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
However, think about who you're sharing these photos with, especially if your profile page is open.
Panda Security explains: "Sharing your location can indicate to malicious actors that you are away from home. This would create an opportunity for them to target your home."
"Consider only uploading photos and videos to social media when you are at home," the expert added.
Find my device
Losing your phone at home is bad enough, but losing it while traveling is even more of a headache. Luckily, both iPhones and Android phones now have a "Find My Device" feature.
"Enable the 'Find My Device' feature on iOS so you can track your device in case of an incident or especially if you want to share your location with friends and family. Android phones have a similar feature," said an expert from Panda Security.
