iPhone SE 4

Apple's budget iPhone is set to receive a significant upgrade, expected to launch in the next few days, marking its first update since 2022.

First, the iPhone SE 4 will eliminate the Home button and switch to a full-screen OLED display with a notch.

The new iPhone SE will also possess some features of the high-end iPhone 16, including: the A18 chip, 8GB of RAM, Apple Intelligence support, a 48MP main camera, and a USB-C port.

Additionally, the iPhone SE 4 is also expected to use Apple's first self-produced 5G modem, making it an attractive option in the budget segment.

iPhone 17 Air

This fall, Apple will launch four new iPhone 17 models. Releasing four iPhone models each year has become a tradition, but this year one of them will feature a major change.

The iPhone Plus model will no longer be available; instead, there will be the iPhone 17 Air.

The iPhone 17 Air will focus more on design than performance. It will have similar specifications to the standard iPhone 17, such as the A19 chip (not the A19 Pro) and 8GB of RAM (instead of 12GB on the Pro models). However, the 17 Air will be more expensive due to its ultra-thin, futuristic design.

This will be the thinnest iPhone ever, with a new screen size, potentially making it the perfect choice between the two Pro models.

Two other notable features of the iPhone 17 Air are its Apple-made 5G modem and its high refresh rate display.

After years of Apple not making many changes to the design of its iPhone models, the iPhone 17 Air will bring a new and exciting look, making users think carefully when choosing an iPhone this year.

iPhone 17 Pro

Although the iPhone 17 Air is the most outstanding product, Apple certainly hasn't neglected the Pro line.

The iPhone 17 Pro retains the 6.3-inch screen size of the iPhone 16 Pro, but features some design changes. The frame will switch from titanium to aluminum, and the camera module will be larger and rectangular in shape.

In terms of hardware, the iPhone 17 Pro will feature: an A19 Pro chip, 12GB of RAM (the largest amount of RAM ever on an iPhone), and a Qualcomm 5G modem.

There will undoubtedly be significant upgrades to the rear camera to match the new design. However, even more noteworthy is that Apple is also improving the selfie camera for the first time in years.

The entire iPhone 17 lineup will have its front camera upgraded from 12MP to 24MP to improve selfie image quality.

iPhone 17 Pro Max

As usual, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will have all the best features of the iPhone 17 Pro, along with some advantages such as longer battery life thanks to its larger size.

Some leaked information suggests that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will have a smaller Dynamic Island compared to the other models. It's unclear how much the size will be reduced, but this has fueled expectations that Face ID might be embedded directly into the screen, thus shrinking the notch. However, another recent report has refuted the possibility of a change to the Dynamic Island, at least not this year.

It's also possible that the iPhone 17 Pro Max will have additional camera upgrades compared to the iPhone 17 Pro, but there are currently no reports confirming this.

iPhone 17

The last iPhone worth mentioning is the standard iPhone 17.

Last year's iPhone 16 was one of the best standard models in years. It remains to be seen whether this will be repeated with the iPhone 17 launching this year, but what can be expected from the 2025 standard iPhone model is equally impressive, featuring a 24MP selfie camera, A19 chip, 8GB of RAM, and a 6.1-inch screen similar to the iPhone 16.

More leaks about the standard iPhone model will likely emerge in the coming months. But for now, it seems the iPhone 17 will face fierce competition not only from the Air and Pro lines, but also from the more affordable iPhone SE 4.

The new iPhone lineup, including the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, and iPhone 17 Air, will be launched in September 2025, following Apple's annual tradition. Meanwhile, the budget-friendly iPhone SE 4 may be introduced by Apple as early as next week.
