Five newly established departments began operations on March 1st.

On the afternoon of February 19th, the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council, 13th term, 2021-2026, held its 31st session (special session) to approve resolutions establishing five new departments.

Accordingly, the delegates unanimously voted to approve the Resolution establishing the Department of Construction by merging the Department of Transport with the Department of Construction; establishing the Department of Finance by merging the Department of Finance with the Department of Planning and Investment; and establishing the Department of Internal Affairs of Quang Ngai province by merging the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs and the Department of Internal Affairs. The delegates also unanimously voted to establish the Department of Science and Technology by merging the Department of Information and Communications with the Department of Science and Technology; and to merge the Department of Natural Resources and Environment with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, under the new name of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Quang Ngai province. The delegates of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Council unanimously agreed to rename the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Committee to the Department of Ethnic and Religious Affairs.

At this session, delegates adopted a resolution on adjusting the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) for 2025. Accordingly, the 18th Conference of the Provincial Party Committee, 20th term, agreed on a growth rate of the Gross Regional Domestic Product in 2025 of 7.5 to 8.5%.

Based on the proposal of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee met and agreed to adjust the target for the growth of the province's gross domestic product in 2025, striving to achieve 8.5% or higher.

Speaking at the session, Ms. Bui Thi Quynh Van, Secretary of the Quang Ngai Provincial Party Committee, stated: “The new agencies and organizations will begin operations on March 1, 2025, ensuring compliance with the directives of the Central Committee, the Politburo , the Secretariat, and the General Secretary, which is to avoid stagnation, disruption, and interruption to our work. The goal for these newly established agencies and organizations is to ensure the quality and efficiency of their work.”
