Colonel, musician Trong Loan (1923 - 2010) was one of the leading figures among the Army's musicians and a major name in Vietnamese music . Throughout his life as a composer, he left behind a vast musical legacy with hundreds of songs.

In particular, he devoted much affection and passion to the themes of the Party and President Ho Chi Minh, resulting in many successful and widely disseminated works such as "Following the Party Flag," "A Song Dedicated to President Ho," "We Set Out on Our Way, the Image of the Fatherland in Our Hearts," "Following the Party to Win the Spring of Our Dreams," "Offering Our Faith to the Party," "The Party's Love Shines Brightly in My Heart," "Singing About the Party, Singing About the Mountains and Rivers," etc.
"Offering Our Trust to the Party" is a special work, always beloved by the public even after half a century. The song was composed by musician Trong Loan in 1976, when he was just over 50 years old and full of creative energy.
As a passionate military musician who wrote wherever he went, his songs were authentic and timely, filled with a vibrant spirit of belief in victory. As early as January 1975, he wrote: "Following our Party to reclaim the Spring we dreamed of," "How beautiful the liberated zone is"... In early 1976, amidst the joyous celebration of a newly unified country, musician Trong Loan sang aloud: "From this spring we sing together the same song," with cheerful, bright, and confident melodies to express his feelings for the revolutionary cause of the Party.
It is known that in early 1976, a songwriting campaign was launched to celebrate the 4th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. At that time, the country had just been reunified, North and South were united, and the whole nation was very enthusiastic, full of joy and confidence in the Party's leadership on the path to socialism. Back then, the songwriting group of military musicians regularly met at the home of musician Trong Loan in the 3B Ong Ich Khiem residential area, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi . The residential area also housed other famous military musicians such as Nguyen Duc Toan and Don Truyen... The musicians were very close to each other. Anyone with a new song would sing it to each other, and they would share their opinions. Responding to the songwriting campaign, the musicians were full of creative enthusiasm, praising the Party and the country. Each chose their own perspective and approach. Composer Văn An wrote "The Party Flag," composer Nguyễn Đức Toàn wrote "The Party is My Life," composer Huy Du wrote "Vietnam, Spring Has Arrived"... Composer Trọng Loan pondered how to fully express his feelings, gratitude, and absolute trust in the revolutionary path of the Party that he had followed for decades. And then "Offering My Trust to the Party" was born, along with heartfelt and sincere self-reflection:
"On the path forward, I pledge to follow the Party for life."
Look at all the dreams stirring in my heart!
My Party!
He is the sun that illuminates the path.
Leading the way through countless waves
And spread your wings and soar to the pinnacle of complete victory..."
The song, with its moderate tempo, gentle and heartfelt emotions, and smooth melody, expresses the author's deep love and trust in the Party. Both the melody and lyrics are deeply moving, as he once shared: "How can I express the pride of each musician in our Army who has known how to embrace, cherish, and preserve the quintessential, pure, and also very intense artistic emotions of life, combat, and work? The Party has educated us, shown us how to orient ourselves, how to think, and how to explore to achieve success in the creative process." This is also the heartfelt sentiment of the artists and writers in the Army in general.

From the moment it was created, the song, performed by artist Kieu Hung, quickly became widely popular in art programs and broadcast on radio and television. Composer Trong Loan was honored to receive a Certificate of Commendation and a Congress Badge from the Organizing Committee of the 4th National Party Congress. Later, the song continued to be performed by famous singers of revolutionary music such as Meritorious Artist Dang Duong, Meritorious Artist Vu Thang Loi, and singer Hoang Viet Danh… in major art programs praising the Party and the beloved President Ho Chi Minh…
Interestingly, from its very inception, this song was popularized under another name: "Faith Offered to the Party." Perhaps this was a shorter version, and one that composer Trong Loan agreed to. However, in official documents, Trong Loan still recorded the title as "Offering Faith to the Party" to express his reverence and respect for the Party. This is also the official title of the song. Fifty years have passed, yet Trong Loan's song "Offering Faith to the Party" still possesses immense vitality, relevance, and continues to resonate in today's vibrant life.
