TPO - Regarding the case of a female student in Thanh Hoa being beaten and breaking her cervical vertebrae, after nearly 1 month of being prosecuted, 6 female students are still going to school as usual.

On January 7, speaking to the press, Mr. Le Van Thanh, in Trung Chinh commune, Nong Cong district (Thanh Hoa), the father of the female student who was beaten by a group of people, said that it has been more than 3 months since the incident in which his daughter was beaten and nearly 1 month since the police initiated the case and prosecuted the accused. However, the female students who were prosecuted have not yet been legally prosecuted and are still attending school as usual.

Mr. Thanh also said that based on the circular of the Ministry of Education and Training on handling violations against students, the family has just sent a petition to the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa, requesting the direction of Nong Cong High School and Nong Cong 2 High School (where the student participated in the beating) to come up with a handling direction that ensures objectivity, timeliness and deterrence for other cases...

Regarding this, a representative of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa province said that for the group of female students who participated in the beating of their friend, after the incident, the school held a council meeting and decided on disciplinary action. Currently, the school is still waiting for the results from the police or a request from this agency before taking further action.

Previously, Tien Phong newspaper reported that on October 4, 2024, a female student of class 10A6, Nong Cong 2 High School, Nong Cong district (Thanh Hoa) was walking home from school when she saw a female student of class 10A5 walking behind her talking and laughing with another friend. The female student of class 10A6 thought that her friend was talking badly about her, leading to an argument. On the afternoon of October 5, when school was out, the two female students continued to argue and fight. Afterwards, the school security broke up the fight and all the students went home. However, when they arrived at Tan Phuc commune, Nong Cong district, the above students continued to argue, leading to a fight.

As a result, an 11th grade female student (when she intervened to stop a group of friends from fighting) was "beaten up" and seriously injured, and had to be transferred to Viet Duc Hospital for treatment. On December 9, 2024, the Investigation Police Agency of Nong Cong District Police issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute 6 female students for "intentionally causing injury".
