The tournament is organized by the Vietnam Television Center in Ho Chi Minh City (VTV9) in collaboration with the Vietnam Cable Television Corporation (VTVcab), the Ho Chi Minh City Tennis and Pickleball Federation, and other partners.
This year's tournament brings together approximately 700 athletes from across the country. These include top professional athletes , businesspeople, artists, KOLs, members of the press, and a large number of pickleball enthusiasts.
The first VTV9 Open Pickleball Tournament - 2025 carries the message "Reach higher with Pickleball - connecting youth, spreading energy". The tournament promises to bring a completely new and inspiring sporting arena.
The tournament includes 9 doubles events with each team consisting of 2 athletes, including: Men's Doubles (Journalists/Artists/KOLs); Mixed Doubles (Journalists/Artists/KOLs); Men's Doubles (Business); Men's Doubles Pro; Mixed Doubles Pro; Mixed Doubles 7.5; Mixed Doubles 5.5; Men's Doubles 5.0; and Mixed Doubles 5.0.
The content is ranked based on the Sport Connect ranking system to ensure accurate grouping based on skill level and create a fair playing field for both beginners and experienced players.
According to the organizers, the tournament will feature top professional athletes such as Ly Hoang Nam, Trinh Linh Giang, Do Minh Quan, Truong Vinh Hien, Van Phuong, Vu Thanh Duong (Duong Cao)... along with some foreign athletes like Li Zefeng, Nathan Willis, and Li Cian....
Artists or KLOs include Akira Phan, Long Dep Trai, Binh Minh, former football star Hong Son, Duc Tuan, Dat G, Hai Bang, musician Huy Tuan, model Minh Hang, runner-up Thanh Ngan, runner-up Ngoc Hang, supermodel Thu Hang, singer Pha Le, actor Minh Luan…
The total prize pool for the VTV9 Open Pickleball Tournament 2025 amounts to 2 billion VND, including cash, trophies, medals, and gifts from sponsors – an impressive figure that demonstrates the ambition to make the tournament a prestigious regional competition in the future.
