In anticipation of the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), many large-scale national-level activities will be solemnly organized in Hanoi and several other localities.

According to the plan for organizing the parade and march, the commemoration ceremony, parade, and march for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd will take place at 6:30 AM on September 2nd at Ba Dinh Square and several central streets in Hanoi.
This was a celebration of exceptional scale, including traditional ceremonies such as torch processions, flag-raising ceremonies, commemorative speeches, and an unprecedentedly large parade and march, combined with spectacular artistic performances. The parade and march featured five marching contingents wearing innovative uniforms, tailored to their specific duties.
The female Medical Corps officers will wear basic field uniforms similar to the K20 model, but improved with new tie-dye prints and floral patterns predominantly in white, harmoniously combined with light blue and dark blue symbolizing peace . The Medical Corps logo is circular, with a red cross woven into the white background. White berets and black officer's field boots give them an elegant and strong appearance.
The armored corps will appear in the K20 Army's male non-commissioned officer-soldier field uniform with a new tie-dye print and computer-generated cloud pattern. The main color is a bluish-gray, matching the equipment color, demonstrating uniformity and the unique nature of the force. The tank driver's professional helmet is an indispensable highlight, adding to the authenticity of the image.
The Chemical Warfare soldiers, dressed in their brightly colored, camouflage-patterned field uniforms featuring a combination of vibrant yellow and green, accurately reflect their specialized mission. Alongside this is the circular Chemical Warfare logo, red with a yellow border, prominently displaying the chemical symbol and the letters "CBRN" (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear).
The Engineering Corps contingent will feature a new look with a gradient printed pattern, primarily dark yellow combined with brown, gray, and charcoal purple. In particular, to highlight the unique cultural characteristics and regional identity, and to add vibrancy to the parades and marches, the contingent of Vietnamese ethnic militia will have a colorful highlight.
A special highlight this year is the first-ever large-scale "Armed Forces Maritime Parade" held in Khanh Hoa. The parade features the participation of the Navy, Coast Guard, Border Guard, and Military Region 5. Notably, it includes the Kilo 636 submarine, nicknamed the "ocean black hole," along with surface vessels and naval air forces, creating a modern and synchronized formation that affirms the strength of the Vietnamese Navy.

Exhibition showcasing the country's achievements over the past 80 years.
In addition to the parade, the National Achievements Exhibition will take place from August 28th to September 5th at the National Exhibition Center in Hanoi, with the theme "80 Years of the Journey to Independence - Freedom - Happiness". The exhibition will comprehensively showcase the outstanding achievements of the country in various fields: economy, culture, society, science and technology, education, national defense, foreign relations, etc., throughout different historical periods.
Modern and digital technologies will be used to create a vibrant and engaging exhibition space, inspiring strong patriotism in generations, especially young people. This is also an opportunity to honor the achievements, contributions, dedication, and sacrifices of generations of Vietnamese people who have always strived for the sustainable development of the nation and the happiness of the people; contributing to fostering patriotism, national pride, and self-respect; encouraging the aspiration for contribution, solidarity, and creativity; and striving to build Vietnam in the new era.
In Official Dispatch No. 126/CĐ-TTg dated August 2nd, the Prime Minister emphasized: “The exhibition “80 Years of the Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness” is a key event… Therefore, it must be organized solemnly, in accordance with the policies of the Party and the State, with a scale, stature, and significance commensurate with the country's proud 80-year journey, and must be attractive to and draw a large number of people and international friends.”
Given the exhibition's significance, the Art Council of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism selected 250 works of fine art and photography to honor the enduring artistic values that generations of artists have diligently cultivated. Alongside traditional themes such as revolutionary war, many artists have broadened their perspectives to contemporary topics such as urban life, nature, the environment, socio-economic development, and national cultural identity.
“The themes are very diverse, ranging from images of soldiers, border regions, islands, to everyday life. There are works that require careful consideration by the Council because each artist brings their own voice and style of expression.”
"Although we couldn't display national treasures or works by the first generation due to storage limitations, overall, the exhibition still vividly reflects the development journey of Vietnamese fine arts over the past 80 years," said artist Luong Xuan Doan, President of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association.

A symphony celebrating historical values.
Joining in the joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere of the nation, various organizations have presented many meaningful and engaging art programs. These are not only commemorative activities, but also opportunities for culture and art to awaken national pride and foster patriotism in every Vietnamese citizen today and in the future.
"Under the Banner of Glory" is one of the key artistic activities organized by the Central Military Commission - Ministry of National Defense. The program takes place in a format connecting three locations: Hanoi, Hue, and Ho Chi Minh City. The program is grand in scale, with nine directors participating. Musician Duong Cam is responsible for creating the music that links the three regions: the majestic classical music of the North, the folk-infused music of the Central region, and the modern music of the South.
The program featured many talented singers from both within and outside the military, along with a large number of soldiers participating from all three locations. Timeless heroic songs were reimagined and staged in a modern style. Many moving documentaries highlighted significant historical milestones of the nation over the past 80 years. Images of soldiers changing guard duty from wartime to peacetime, and images of President Ho Chi Minh, were repeatedly featured throughout the program.
Particularly at the Hanoi location, the performance included a gun dance and realistic footage of a changing of the guard by honor guards at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. These were real-life examples from the practical activities of the soldiers in carrying out their duties. During the changing of the guard, there was no sound or music other than the footsteps of the soldiers at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, their footsteps tapping on the sacred ground. Immediately after the changing of the guard ended, the song "We Guard Your Sleep" was sung by a singer right in front of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum entrance.
As part of a series of artistic activities, two special art programs organized by the city of Hanoi aim to honor the achievements of the revolution and convey a message about the nation's aspirations for development. Among them, the program "Hanoi - From the Historic Autumn of 1945" will take place at 8 PM on August 15th at the August Revolution Square - a place that marked a glorious historical moment for the nation exactly 80 years ago.
The entire content recreates the atmosphere of the historic autumn of 1945 through vivid and emotional artistic portrayals, thereby conveying a message of patriotism, the aspiration for independence, freedom, and happiness, and the strength of national unity.
“Hanoi – The Everlasting Aspiration of Vietnam” will be held at 8 PM on August 31st at the National Exhibition Center. The program's overarching theme is the 80-year journey of building, protecting, and developing the country, with Hanoi playing a central role as a cultural anchor and a source of inspiration for innovation.
With three chapters: “Hanoi Day, Month, Year”; “Hanoi Through Whose Eyes”; and “Vietnam in a New Era”, the program utilizes a combination of art forms such as music, contemporary dance, skits, documentary projections, 3D mapping, and modern sound and lighting technology.
In particular, the program features renowned artists, professional art groups from the capital, and students from art schools, creating a magnificent and emotionally rich "artistic tapestry" like a harmonious symphony honoring historical values.
On July 31st, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued a plan to mobilize and organize the forces participating in the artistic formation. Accordingly, the performance will take place at 6:30 AM on September 2nd at the commemoration ceremony, parade, and march celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested the following units: Central University of Arts Education, Hanoi University of Culture, Hanoi College of Tourism, Vietnam National University of Arts, and Thang Long University to take the lead in mobilizing the full number of participating students.
