At the same time, proactively providing quick and timely capital helps farmers develop and innovate their livestock farming, cultivation, and production activities to become more modern. This, in turn, increases the yield and quality of agricultural products, boosts income, and allows them to improve their lives through their own family production models, making a significant contribution to the economic restructuring process in each locality. Thanks to Agribank's capital, many large-scale agricultural production models applying high technology have been and are being formed throughout Vietnam, creating agricultural production chains that contribute to the creation of high-quality, high-value agricultural products, bringing practical benefits. On August 8, 2024, at the ceremony announcing and honoring outstanding Vietnamese banks in 2024 held in Ho Chi Minh City, Agribank was honored with three titles, including the "Outstanding Bank for the Community" award.
Agribank has launched the "1 Million Trees - More Trees, More Life" green planting campaign, contributing to the Prime Minister's initiative to "Plant 1 Billion Trees in 5 Years." The tree planting and seedling donation activities in many localities have contributed to increasing forest cover, improving the environment, and preventing erosion, landslides, and natural disasters. In addition, the support of seedlings has helped local people boost the development of hill and forest economies, increase production, and escape poverty. These Agribank seedlings are growing and protecting the country's land and forests. In 2023, Agribank organized an online running event "For a Green Future" to raise funds, with the enthusiastic participation of its staff, employees, customers, partners, and the community. The total achievements of the 35,000 athletes participating in the race were converted by Agribank into 35 billion VND in the social welfare budget to fund community activities and environmental protection. During the Lunar New Year holiday each year, Agribank regularly organizes the "Joining Hands for the Poor" program to help people celebrate the holiday fully and warmly; it also donates solidarity houses to policy beneficiary families; and organizes visits and gift-giving to several centers for the care of war invalids and those who have contributed to the revolution. Healthcare and education are areas where Agribank consistently pays attention and provides support. Annually, Agribank collaborates with central and local hospitals to organize medical examinations and provide medicine for policy beneficiary families and people in difficult circumstances, and contributes funds for the construction of medical facilities and the equipping of medical equipment. Units throughout the Agribank system launch voluntary blood donation campaigns, with all staff and employees actively participating, contributing over 2,000 units of blood per year. During the complex Covid-19 pandemic, Agribank donated over 300 billion VND to support the prevention and control of the disease in localities and frontline agencies and units. Funding for the construction, repair, and upgrading of school facilities and the provision of infrastructure to improve teaching and learning conditions annually amounts to tens of billions of VND. Notable social welfare projects in the education sector that Agribank has invested heavily in include: the Thanh Tam Commune Kindergarten (Thach Thanh District, Thanh Hoa Province), funded by Agribank with 7 billion VND; and the Tan Binh 1 Primary School (Phung Hiep District, Hau Giang Province), with a total investment of 5 billion VND, fully funded by Agribank. The Thach Lac Kindergarten project (Thach Ha district, Ha Tinh province) is worth 5 billion VND... In conjunction with improving teaching and learning facilities, since 2020, Agribank has implemented the "More Literacy, Less Poverty" program, donating bookshelves and learning equipment to disadvantaged areas, remote regions, and areas with limited infrastructure. To date, donations have been made in 61 provinces and cities with a total cost of over 12.5 billion VND. For the upcoming 2024-2025 school year, Agribank will continue to implement the program in localities nationwide, creating conditions for students to have equipment and opportunities to access modern learning methods, proactively learn, explore, and develop comprehensively.
