With just a scan of a QR code on their smartphone, visitors can step into the world of Cham culture, vividly recreated through digital maps, 3D models, and a rich digital database.
This is one of the prominent activities implemented by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province to serve the 6th Cham Ethnic Culture Festival in 2026, taking place from June 26 to 28, aiming to bring traditional values closer to the public in the digital age.
One touch to explore the heritage
Visiting Po Nagar Cham Towers during this time, tourists not only get to admire the ancient beauty of the famous Cham architectural complex but also have the opportunity to experience a heritage exploration journey in a completely new way.
By scanning a QR code on their smartphone, visitors can step into the world of Cham culture, vividly recreated through digital maps, 3D models, and a rich digital database.
The QR code system, integrated into visitor passes, bus tickets, and various promotional materials, allows viewers to easily access digital data resources simply by scanning the code.
From there, visitors can learn about the history of the site's formation, explore the 3D space, consult digital maps, or discover artifacts and national treasures associated with Cham culture.

The Khánh Hòa Provincial Department of Culture has installed large screens and interactive systems at sites showcasing Cham cultural heritage to serve tourists.
In particular, on June 27th, the "Digital Platform on Cham Cultural Heritage in Khanh Hoa Province" will be officially launched at a local scientific conference, marking an important step in the province's roadmap for building a digital cultural data ecosystem.
Transforming heritage into digital data.
Few people know that to achieve these digital experiences, specialized units have urgently implemented many important tasks.
Starting in early June, the Provincial Center for Cultural Heritage Conservation conducted field surveys at the Po Nagar Cham Towers and the Po Klong Garai Towers. Subsequently, technical teams continuously performed 3D scanning, photographed the current state, processed data, and built digital information systems for each monument and artifact.

All explanatory content provided by the Khanh Hoa Provincial Center for Cultural Heritage Conservation and the Provincial Museum is standardized and synchronously integrated into a digital platform to create a complete, scientific, and easily accessible database.
According to the leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province, the goal of the project is not simply to digitize archival documents but to "transform heritage into digital cultural data." This is considered a solution to help preserve the original state of cultural values, standardize data for long-term management, and create a reliable source of information for research, education, and promotion.

More importantly, the digital platform will help expand access to heritage to a wider audience both domestically and internationally, including those who have not had the opportunity to visit in person. Through the digital environment, Cham cultural values will have more opportunities to spread, contributing to the development of smart and sustainable tourism.
The proactive implementation of technological solutions ahead of the 6th Cham Ethnic Culture Festival not only enhances the visitor experience but also demonstrates Khanh Hoa's determination to integrate its heritage with the digital transformation process. From centuries-old ancient structures, a new cultural space is emerging, where the past and technology coexist to continue telling the story of heritage on its journey of integration and development.
