Mr. Le Hong Giang, Director of Viettel Lang Son Logistics Park, said: The park is oriented to be a modern logistics center and at the same time a core to promote cross-border trade. We build a comprehensive service ecosystem, in which AI plays a pivotal role. The system operates in the direction of automation and intelligence, with vehicle and goods data continuously analyzed in real time. All artificial intelligence solutions are researched, mastered and customized by Viettel according to the characteristics of Vietnam's logistics.
Viettel Lang Son Logistics Park operates a closed import and export process, from customs clearance, quarantine, goods inspection to transshipment, warehousing and cross-border transportation. Every step is controlled by AI.
Before entering the park, businesses or drivers register for an appointment and declare information on the application. When vehicles move on Highway 1, the AI Ultraview camera system along the route automatically recognizes, authenticates license plates and prepares data to shorten the reception time at the gate. At the Smart Gate smart customs gate, AI automatically recognizes license plates, scans loads, and uses biometrics to identify drivers, compares goods types, declarations, transport orders, and vehicle information. Inside the area, more than 2,000 AI cameras continuously analyze vehicle flow, cargo status, vehicle density, and unusual signs. LED panels are synchronized, displaying vacant parking spaces and guiding vehicles to move in the right direction. At the inter-industry house, electronic records are processed centrally. Agricultural products are quarantined, electronics, and food are inspected using a modern screening system. The repackaging, sorting, and quality control stages are handled by robots and automatic conveyors.
Data from points in the chain is fed into operational platforms such as warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and digital twins via IoT (Internet of Things) devices. The entire process is linked to the NOC Operations Center, which operates 24/7. Here, AI continues to analyze big data, provide early warnings, and support decision-making at the time of occurrence. Thanks to that, vehicle and cargo flows are controlled uniformly, interconnectedly, and accurately.
The data system at the Park is standardized and directly connected to the customs databases of Vietnam and China, creating a seamless processing flow with a capacity of about 1,500 vehicles/day.
Mr. Dam Van Minh, Bac Ninh province, driver transporting electronic components from Bac Ninh (Vietnam) to Bang Tuong (China) said: In previous years, whenever the border gate area was congested, drivers had to eat and sleep right on the roadside, which was inadequate, inconvenient and unsafe. Since Viettel Lang Son Logistics Park came into operation, we were guided to the coordination area right from the time the vehicle was still on the national highway. Inside the area, the space is large, the infrastructure is synchronous, and the services are complete from customs procedures, loading, packaging to technical support. In particular, the park also arranges a separate resting area for drivers with a place to eat, drink, and personal hygiene to ensure cleanliness and safety.
Launched in December 2024, AI has become a powerful tool, helping the park optimize processes from warehousing to transportation, resulting in faster and more accurate order processing and proactive demand forecasting. As a result, the park is attracting more and more drivers and businesses to use its services.
In the coming time, Viettel Lang Son Logistics Park will continue to improve and complete its infrastructure and information technology to enhance service quality, consolidate its position as a modern, comprehensive logistics center, and meet the increasing demands of customers and businesses.
