Mr. Le Hong Giang, Director of Viettel Lang Son Logistics Park, said: "The park is oriented towards being a modern logistics center and a nucleus for promoting cross-border trade. We are building a comprehensive service ecosystem, in which AI plays a pivotal role. The system operates in an automated and intelligent manner, with vehicle and cargo data continuously analyzed in real time. All artificial intelligence solutions are researched, mastered, and customized by Viettel to suit the specific characteristics of Vietnamese logistics."
Viettel Lang Son Logistics Park operates a closed-loop import and export process, from customs clearance, quarantine, and inspection to transshipment, warehousing, and cross-border transportation. Every step is controlled by AI.
Before entering the park, businesses or drivers register for appointments and declare information on the application. As vehicles travel along National Highway 1, the Ultraview AI camera system along the route automatically identifies and verifies license plates and prepares data to shorten processing time at the gate. At the Smart Gate customs gate, AI automatically identifies license plates, scans cargo weight, and uses biometrics to identify drivers, compare cargo type, declarations, transport orders, and vehicle information. Inside the park, more than 2,000 AI cameras continuously analyze traffic flow, cargo status, vehicle density, and any unusual signs. Synchronized LED displays show available parking spaces and guide vehicles to move in the correct lane. At the inter-agency building, electronic documents are processed centrally. Agricultural products are quarantined, while electronics and food are inspected using a modern screening system. Repackaging, sorting, and quality control are handled by robots and automated conveyor belts.
Data from points in the chain is fed into operational platforms such as warehouse management systems (WMS), transportation management systems (TMS), and digital twin models via IoT (Internet of Things) devices. The entire process is linked to a 24/7 Network Operations Center (NOC). Here, AI further analyzes the big data, providing early warnings and supporting decision-making at the point of occurrence. As a result, vehicle and cargo flows are controlled consistently, interconnected, and accurately.
The data system at the park is standardized and directly connected to the customs databases of Vietnam and China, creating a seamless processing flow with a capacity of approximately 1,500 vehicles per day.
Mr. Dam Van Minh from Bac Ninh province, a truck driver transporting electronic components from Bac Ninh (Vietnam) to Bang Tuong (China), said: "In previous years, whenever the border area was congested, drivers had to eat and sleep right by the roadside, which was inconvenient and unsafe. Since the Viettel Lang Son Logistics Park opened, we are guided to the coordination area even while our trucks are still on the highway. Inside, the area is spacious, the infrastructure is synchronized, and the services are complete, from customs procedures, loading, and packaging to technical support. In particular, the park also has a dedicated rest area for drivers with clean and safe facilities for eating and personal hygiene."
Launched in December 2024, AI has become a powerful tool, helping the park optimize processes from warehousing to transportation, resulting in faster and more accurate order processing and proactive demand forecasting. As a result, the park is attracting more and more drivers and businesses to use its services.
In the coming period, Viettel Lang Son Logistics Park will continue to improve and perfect its infrastructure and information technology to enhance service quality and consolidate its position as a modern, comprehensive logistics center, meeting the increasingly high demands of customers and businesses.
