Heartwarming "Early Spring in the Highlands" program celebrates the Lunar New Year 2025 in Nghe An.

With beautiful weather, joyful hearts, and the resounding sounds of gongs and drums, the "Early Spring in the Highlands" program, organized by the Nghe An Provincial Fatherland Front Committee in coordination with the Provincial Police, the Provincial Border Guard Command, and Ky Son District in Bac Ly border commune, truly brought the 2025 Lunar New Year (Year of the Snake) earlier to the people here.

Attending the program were: Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Major General Bui Quang Thanh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Provincial Police; Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Colonel Nguyen Cong Luc - Commander of the Provincial Border Guard Command, along with leaders of departments, agencies, National Assembly Delegation from Nghe An province, and leaders of Ky Son district.

The "Early Spring in the Highlands" program - Tet Nguyen Dan 2025 (Lunar New Year of the Snake) - was organized in Bac Ly commune, where over 98% of households are poor or near-poor. The aim was to encourage the people, spread compassion within the community, and promote the nation's tradition of "mutual support and love" to help the poor, especially in remote and border areas, ensuring that every family and every person has the opportunity to enjoy the Spring and celebrate Tet.

Speaking at the event, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung extended his sincere greetings, warm regards, and best wishes for a happy new year to the village elders, community leaders, influential figures, and all the people.

The Provincial Party Secretary assessed that "Early Spring in the Highlands - Lunar New Year 2025" is a highly meaningful program, part of the series of Tet for the Poor programs for the Lunar New Year 2025 organized by the province.

Expressing his delight at participating in the program, the Provincial Party Secretary assessed that the preparations for the people to celebrate the Lunar New Year were very thorough, coordinated by the Party Committee and government of Ky Son district, Bac Ly commune, My Ly commune, and the armed forces.

With only 20 days left until the traditional Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake, a time for family reunions and community bonding according to tradition, the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that Party committees and authorities from the province to the commune level are deeply concerned and anxious, hoping that everyone and every family can celebrate the New Year in a fulfilling, warm, safe, healthy, and joyful manner.

In that spirit, over the years, Nghe An province has meticulously cared for its people in general and those in difficult circumstances in particular.

To date, Nghe An province has continuously organized the Tet program for the poor for 12 years and has mobilized and appealed for support from organizations, individuals, businesses, and philanthropists with a total of 872 billion VND to take care of the poor during Tet, with the goal of ensuring that every household receives Tet gifts, demonstrating the concern and care of the Party committees and authorities at all levels.

Emphasizing that Nghe An is a province with a large area, mountainous regions, and ethnic minorities facing many difficulties, with the poverty rate in the province at 4.17% and the near-poverty rate at 5.42%, Comrade Nguyen Duc Trung affirmed that organizing the "Early Spring in the Highlands" program for the people of Bac Ly and My Ly communes demonstrates the concern and care of the Party committees and authorities at all levels for the people to enjoy the Spring and celebrate Tet.

The Provincial Party Secretary expressed sincere gratitude to the generous contributions of organizations, businesses, philanthropists, and charitable organizations that have joined hands with the Party Committee and the government to take care of the Tet holiday for the people, especially those in mountainous areas and ethnic minorities.

Immediately after the program, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung requested the Party Committee and government of Ky Son district and the two communes of Bac Ly and My Ly to promptly send gifts to the people; at the same time, the Party Committee and government of the communes should focus on building more economic development models and poverty reduction programs so that people can gradually overcome difficulties.

In addition, Party committees and authorities at all levels are coordinating closely with the armed forces to ensure security and order, border security, and national sovereignty, ensuring that people can celebrate Tet safely and healthily; the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee continues to coordinate with agencies and units to organize many programs like this in various localities so that more people can participate.

At the event, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Duc Trung and Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Vo Thi Minh Sinh presented a symbolic check for over 3 billion VND to Ky Son district, including Tet gifts for the poor, funding for the construction of solidarity houses, and livelihood support for the impoverished. The Ministry of Public Security and the Provincial Police also provided 2.1 billion VND in Tet gifts to the people of Ky Son.
