Heartwarming moments for workers

As the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 approaches, the picture of workers' lives in the province shows many positive aspects. In the context of recovering industrial production and trade, most businesses are striving to maintain employment and ensure salaries and Tet bonuses. Along with this, a series of practical welfare programs from trade unions and the government at all levels are helping workers have a fulfilling and secure Tet holiday.

In the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), the atmosphere in the province's industrial zones and clusters remains bustling but more cheerful as workers are informed early about their salary and bonus arrangements. According to the labor sector's summary, the average salary of workers in enterprises in the area in 2025 will continue to be stable, with many units experiencing significant increases compared to the previous year.

Through investigation, it was found that in some successful manufacturing and export businesses, employees receive a 13th-month salary, along with Tet bonuses ranging from several million dong upwards, depending on seniority and business performance. Although the bonus amounts are not uniform across businesses, the timely and transparent payment has created a sense of security and loyalty among employees before the long holiday.

Recently, the Trade Union of Matsuoka Phu Tho Company (Phu Ha Industrial Park) organized the "Tet Reunion - Spring Gratitude to the Party" program for over 2,000 union members and workers. Within the framework of the program, many meaningful and practical activities were organized to motivate and encourage workers after a year of hard work. The organizers honored 280 outstanding workers, recognizing their remarkable contributions to the company's development.

In addition, 44 gifts worth a total of 55 million VND were presented to union members and workers in difficult circumstances; a lucky draw program with 55 prizes worth over 48 million VND brought joy and a lively atmosphere in the days leading up to Tet. The company's grassroots trade union also presented an additional 50 gifts worth 15 million VND, demonstrating its care and support for union members in the company.

Along with wages, employment after the Lunar New Year is a major concern for many workers. In reality, most businesses in the province proactively developed production plans from the beginning of 2026, minimizing labor disruptions. Many companies renewed long-term contracts, added benefits, and adjusted working hours to retain skilled workers. This contributed to stabilizing the local labor market, especially given the usual increase in recruitment demand after the Lunar New Year.

A highlight of this occasion, imbued with humanistic values, is the program to support workers returning home for Tet (Lunar New Year). Responding to the "Bringing Tet Home" program launched by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor , trade unions at all levels in Phu Tho province have coordinated with businesses to develop plans to organize numerous charitable bus trips, providing free bus tickets to union members and workers in difficult circumstances.

The buses departing in the days leading up to Tet not only shorten the journey home but also carry the care and sharing of the trade union and the business community.

For migrant workers who choose to stay in their hometowns for Tet (Lunar New Year) due to family circumstances or work commitments, comprehensive Tet welfare programs are being implemented. From Tet gifts and cash support to cultural and artistic activities and warm year-end meals at the workplace, these programs are expected to significantly help workers alleviate homesickness and feel a stronger connection between the company and its employees.

In many places, grassroots trade unions have also developed specific plans to visit migrant workers and workers with particularly difficult circumstances, ensuring that no one is left behind during the Tet holiday.

Alongside the efforts of businesses and trade unions, the province also issued directives and plans to ensure social security during the Tet holiday. Inspection and supervision of the implementation of wage, bonus, working hour, and rest periods were strengthened, promptly identifying and addressing any issues arising in labor relations. Local authorities proactively reviewed and provided support to disadvantaged and unemployed workers, contributing to maintaining security and social order during the peak period at the end of the year.

Despite positive signs, many challenges remain. Some small businesses and those facing order difficulties can only offer modest Tet bonuses; the high cost of living and travel during Tet continues to be a burden for low-income workers. This requires more sustained and long-term efforts from all levels and sectors, focusing not only on Tet but throughout the year, through policies on social housing, vocational training, skills development, and income improvement for workers.

From the outlook for late 2025 and early 2026, it's clear that caring for the lives of workers in Phu Tho is no longer a seasonal issue but is gradually becoming a regular task. When wages and jobs are secured, and when charitable transportation and Tet gifts reach the right people at the right time, the trust of workers in businesses and the locality is strengthened. This is also an important foundation for Phu Tho to continue its sustainable development, retain human resources, and create momentum for production and business in the new year.
