The "Following in the Footsteps of Cricket - Music" program series takes place at the Tô Hoài Memorial Space (21B Đoàn Nhữ Hài, Hanoi ). Every Thursday evening, the house that was once closely associated with the life and creative career of the "father of Cricket" resonates with the sound of classical guitar.

In an intimate setting, students from the final year of primary school to junior high school confidently take to the stage to perform their meticulously prepared works. The audience includes parents, peers, and book and art lovers. The series of programs is initiated and directly led by artist and classical guitar instructor Trang Cong Vinh.

The Tô Hoài Memorial Space is open and welcomes many visitors.

Driven by the desire to create a beneficial summer activity for students and to bring classical music closer to young audiences, the program is organized entirely on a voluntary and dedicated basis. There are no tuition fees or venue rental costs, yet each performance is meticulously prepared.

After the students' performances, artist Trang Cong Vinh directly commented on and analyzed the works, pointing out areas for improvement and demonstrating on stage. His feedback on technique, sound handling, performance emotion, and musical knowledge was conveyed vividly, helping the students absorb the information naturally and effectively.

Teachers and students share experiences in a space rich in cultural significance.

The highlight of the program is the close collaboration between teachers, students, and parents. Through open performances, parents have the opportunity to witness their children's persistent training journey and better understand the effort behind each performance. From there, the collaboration in art education becomes genuine sharing and encouragement.

Artist Trang Cong Vinh said that the idea of building a series of programs had been brewing in his mind for many years, after he took his students to participate in the "An Tran's International Workshop Hanoi Vietnam" program organized by Dr. An Tran, a classical guitarist, and other international artists.

Valuable documents about the writer Tô Hoài are displayed in the memorial space.

His experience in an intensive learning environment, where students are inspired to be creative and enhance their performance and ensemble skills, has led him to consider expanding the scope of music education for his students. According to the artist, regular community activities play a crucial role in nurturing a lasting love of art.

The artist is delighted that this year the series of programs is officially launched as a new link in the art education ecosystem that he and his colleagues have dedicated themselves to and persistently built.

The space is elaborately designed to welcome the public.

As this is the first time the program has been organized, there may still be areas for improvement. However, according to artist Trang Cong Vinh, this initial step serves as motivation for teachers and students to continue striving. Every act of support from parents and audience members is a valuable source of encouragement on the journey of pursuing classical guitar art, contributing to fostering an inspiring learning environment for the younger generation.

Many parents said that after attending the program, they realized that learning a musical instrument not only hones performance skills but also helps children develop perseverance, concentration, self-confidence, and a spirit of overcoming challenges. These are also important educational values that art provides.

Students and their families have more opportunities to learn about literature and art.

Besides music, the program also showcases a harmonious connection between various forms of culture and art. Held at the To Hoai Writer's Memorial Space with the support of the writer's family and the reading culture group - the "Our Home Books" project, each event is also an opportunity for literature and music to meet.

Children who come here can begin with a love for music, while also being introduced to a cultural space associated with one of the great authors of Vietnamese literature. From the pages of "The Adventures of Cricket" to the melodies that resonate in life today, there is a natural continuation of aesthetic and humanistic values.

According to Ms. Le Thuy Duong, representative of the "Books at Home" project, the event is the result of accumulating and connecting cultural and artistic activities carried out over many years. Previously, the project and artists had collaborated on many exchanges, performances, or introductions of literary works linked to art. However, these activities mainly took place separately at individual events. The formation of a series of programs spanning the summer has created a more sustainable connection between books, music, and education.

She noted that what is valuable is that the program creates a suitable and inspiring environment for children to be exposed to a space rich in cultural values. When the pages of writer To Hoai's books become the meeting point of guitar and violin music and stories about the learning and creative journeys of young children, the culture of reading is also spread in a natural and intimate way.

Through activities that seem to belong to different fields, the program is gradually forming a community that shares a love for books, art, and human values, in line with the direction that the "Our Home Books" project has pursued for many years.

According to the organizers, this year's summer program consists of 10 sessions. After the initial sessions received a positive response, the program has expanded to include violinists and is expected to welcome more musical instruments. Many students from the Vietnam National Academy of Music have also expressed their desire to participate in performances and interact with the children.

The children were engrossed in practicing the piano.

From a classical guitar class, "Walking with Cricket - Music" is gradually becoming a community art space where music lovers, book lovers, and those concerned with children's education can meet, share, and create positive values together.

Today, although children have many entertainment options, artistic playgrounds built with dedication and commitment remain invaluable. There, they learn to play music, listen, appreciate beauty, nurture their spiritual lives, and develop lasting human values.

That is precisely the spirit that writer To Hoai's works conveyed more than 80 years ago: exploration, learning, and growth on the journey to the wider world. Today, those steps continue to be extended through music in an inspiring summer for children.
