Hue cuisine ranks 28th in the world.

Culinary experts and international tourists have given Hue's cuisine a 4.56/5 rating, thanks to the appeal of dishes such as beef noodle soup, banh beo (steamed rice cakes), and bot loc (tapioca dumplings).

On February 14th, the world- renowned food website Taste Atlas announced its list of Best Food Cities in the World 2023, honoring the local cuisine of various destinations. Hue ranked 28th, while Ho Chi Minh City ranked 73rd.

Hue cuisine has been rated 4.56/5 points by international experts and diners. The most famous dishes mentioned first include beef noodle soup, tapioca dumplings, clam rice, grilled pork skewers, sweet soups, steamed rice cakes, husband and wife cakes, sour shrimp, and sweet soups.

Ho Chi Minh City is known to international diners for dishes such as Phnom Penh noodle soup, spring rolls, broken rice, braised offal, snails stir-fried with coconut milk, and banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches).

The Top 100, published by Taste Atlas, is based on nearly 400,000 votes from international experts and diners who rated over 16,000 cities worldwide, based on criteria such as popularity, widespread appeal, and local specialties.

The list of the world's best food cities is part of the annual Taste Atlas Awards. Other categories mentioned include the 100 Best Dishes and the 100 Best Cuisines in the World.

In the category of the World's Best Cuisines, Vietnam ranked 22nd. In the list of the 100 Best Dishes in the World, banh mi and pho bo were the two Vietnamese representatives honored. Banh mi ranked 14th, while pho bo ranked 100th.

Founded in 2015, Taste Atlas connects with 9,000 local restaurants, showcasing over 10,000 dishes to its readers, along with thousands of reviews and research from culinary experts and chefs. The website aims to become a global map of traditional dishes made with local ingredients.
