According to the plan of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, this year's year-end meal will be held right at the production facilities, enterprises, and residential areas where workers are employed and live. The minimum support for each meal is set at 70,000 VND/person, using funds from the trade union and the coordination and support of enterprises. Based on this, units and enterprises will proactively balance their actual conditions to improve the quality of meals, in accordance with their scale and capabilities.

Along with improving meals, the program aims to create a space for year-end gatherings, strengthening the bond between workers, trade unions, and employers, especially for workers who are unable to return home for Tet (Lunar New Year).
According to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL), by the first week of February 2026, many localities and enterprises with a large number of workers had organized "Year-End Union Dinners". In Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam Samho Co., Ltd. organized a year-end dinner for over 8,200 workers. The total cost for Tet (Lunar New Year) celebrations for union members and workers at this enterprise was nearly 1.55 billion VND, including the year-end dinner and Tet gifts. In Dong Nai province, TKG Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company organized a year-end dinner for over 34,000 workers, with the participation of union leaders at all levels and representatives of the VGCL.
Besides large enterprises, many grassroots and local trade unions also proactively organize year-end meals for their members. In Hanoi, the Ba Dinh Ward Trade Union, in coordination with Ho Tay International Co., Ltd., organized a "Trade Union Year-End Meal" for over 400 union members and employees working at the company. In addition to the meal, the program also provided an opportunity for the grassroots trade union to meet, exchange ideas, and listen to the concerns of the employees before the new year.
According to a representative of the trade union at Ho Tay International Co., Ltd., compared to the usual daily meal costing around 40,000 VND per person, the year-end meal was increased to 75,000 VND per person, with a more varied menu, including desserts and drinks, ensuring adequate nutrition for the workers.
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) announced that the "Trade Union Year-End Dinner" is a component of Plan No. 34/KH-TLD on organizing activities to care for union members and workers during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026. The plan aims for a larger scale and greater resources for this year's Tet celebrations compared to previous years, focusing strongly on grassroots activities and directly caring for individual workers.
In Gia Lai province, on the evening of February 7th, the Provincial Labor Union, in coordination with Phu Cat Garment Joint Stock Company, organized a "Year-End Union Dinner" for approximately 700 union members and workers. The meal, costing 200,000 VND per person, was funded by the company's meal allowance, the company's own union finances, and support from the Provincial Labor Union.
According to the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, in 2025, 5,132 grassroots trade unions organized the "Trade Union Meal" model, attracting more than 2.17 million union members and workers with a total budget of over 148.7 billion VND from trade union, enterprise, and social contributions. Based on the results of this model, trade unions have researched and added the "Trade Union Year-End Meal" format to expand the scope of care for workers at the end of the year. These year-end meals are held right at the workplace, creating opportunities for a large number of workers to participate, especially those who stay at work during the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year).
The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor believes that the series of activities to care for workers during Tet, including the "Trade Union Year-End Meal," not only meets immediate material needs but also contributes to strengthening harmonious and stable labor relations in enterprises, helping workers feel secure and committed, and preparing to enter the new year with a positive spirit.
