After years of anticipation, this Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, the family of Ms. Nguyen Thi Cuc (born in 1963), residing in Thanh Long area, An Sinh ward, celebrated the holiday in their new home, bringing double joy. Having been a single mother for many years, and suffering from poor health, Ms. Cuc and her daughter depended solely on a few acres of farmland for their livelihood. Therefore, their dilapidated house had deteriorated significantly, but the family lacked the means to rebuild or renovate it.
Sympathizing with the family's situation, in 2025, the Fatherland Front Committee of An Sinh Ward mobilized businesses and philanthropists to support 60 million VND; the family also contributed over 200 million VND to build a new house with an area of 60m2 and enclosed outbuildings. To help the family have better conditions to celebrate Tet, the Party Committee, government, Fatherland Front of the ward and political and social organizations donated many gifts including cash and essential necessities such as sticky rice, regular rice, cooking oil, fish sauce, etc.
Receiving the gift from the Fatherland Front of the ward, Mrs. Cúc was moved: "The concern of the Party Committee, the government, and the Fatherland Front of the ward not only helped my family celebrate the traditional Tet holiday happily and warmly, but also created motivation for my daughter and me to strive to escape poverty sustainably."
Mr. Hoang Xuan Nam, Vice Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, said: The Fatherland Front Committee of the ward has proactively reviewed and thoroughly assessed the circumstances of each household, ensuring that no family is left without a Tet celebration. From the "For the Poor" Fund at all levels and through donations from units, businesses, and philanthropists, during the 2026 Lunar New Year, the Fatherland Front Committee of the ward organized the distribution of over 200 gift packages with a total value of over 120 million VND to disadvantaged households, orphaned children, and elderly people without support. In addition, essential necessities and household items were also provided to support people's daily lives during Tet.

According to statistics, as of February 10th, the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in the province had distributed 101,429 gifts with a total value of over 64 billion VND. Of this amount, 23 billion VND came from the provincial and local budgets, while the remainder was from social contributions from businesses, organizations, and philanthropists.
Alongside this, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and political and social organizations are actively implementing many meaningful programs such as "Tet Reunion - Spring of Gratitude to the Party", "Spring in the Border Region - Tet in the Islands", "Trade Union Tet Market - Spring 2026", "Zero-Cost Tet Market"... The gifts delivered directly to the recipients not only contribute to sharing difficulties and helping disadvantaged households have better conditions to celebrate the Spring Festival and Tet, but also profoundly spread the concern, responsibility, and affection of the entire political system and the community, encouraging and motivating families to strive for a better life.
Religious organizations in the province have actively joined hands to care for disadvantaged families during Tet (Lunar New Year). For example, Hon Gai parish donated a total of 9 tons of rice worth 150 million VND, along with 100 million VND in cash, to needy households in Ha Long, Hong Gai, Ha Tu, Ha Lam, and Cao Xanh wards, and Thong Nhat and Quang La communes.
Tieu Dao Pagoda (Viet Hung Ward) donated 20 gift packages, totaling 12 million VND, to help disadvantaged households celebrate Tet (Vietnamese Lunar New Year). Venerable Thich Tam Tinh, the pagoda's abbot, stated: "This is not simply a material gift, bringing joy and warmth, showing concern during the traditional Tet holiday, but also upholding and preserving the beautiful traditional values of the Vietnamese people, such as 'Helping those in need' and 'Treating others as you would yourself'..." These values are embodied by the Buddhist followers of Tieu Dao Pagoda.
The Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 is fast approaching. With the attention of Party committees, government agencies, the Fatherland Front, organizations, associations, businesses, and philanthropists, activities to care for those in difficult circumstances during Tet (Lunar New Year) have been and are being implemented synchronously throughout the province, ensuring that everyone can have a fulfilling and warm spring season.
