On January 5, 2026, the President signed Decision No. 01 on giving gifts to people who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution on the occasion of the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026. The deadline for completing the gift-giving to these individuals is before January 31, 2026.
Through a review, nearly 7,000 individuals across the province have received Tet gifts from the President. In addition, during this Lunar New Year, the province will also organize gift-giving for those who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution in the area.
In Cao Loc commune, statistics show that there are 46 individuals who are war veterans and meritorious individuals eligible to receive gifts from the President and the province during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026. Mr. Hua Anh Tuan, Chairman of the People's Committee of Cao Loc commune, stated: Currently, the People's Committee has developed a plan to organize the distribution of gifts from the President to these individuals as stipulated. The commune will form delegations to deliver Tet gifts to war veterans and meritorious individuals, starting from January 24, 2026. Simultaneously, specialized departments, offices, and villages will be tasked with organizing the distribution of gifts to the people, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Previously, to celebrate the 14th National Congress of the Party and the Lunar New Year of the Horse in 2026, the Government issued Resolution No. 418, dated December 28, 2025, on giving gifts from the Party and State to people with meritorious services to the revolution, social welfare beneficiaries, social pensioners, and other vulnerable groups, at a rate of 400,000 VND per person.
Ms. Nguyen Thu Hoai, Head of the Emulation, Commendation and Meritorious Persons Department of the Department of Internal Affairs, said: In implementing the resolution, the department advised the Provincial People's Committee to direct the People's Committees of communes and wards to review, compile, and approve the list of eligible recipients of gifts according to the guidelines and organize the gift distribution to ensure timely and accurate distribution to the correct recipients. As a result, gifts were distributed to 42,279 individuals throughout the province, with a total budget of over 16.9 billion VND.
In Xuan Duong commune, the People's Committee organized the distribution of gifts to 100% of the beneficiaries in accordance with Government Resolution No. 418. Mr. Vi Van Ngan, from Ban To village, Xuan Duong commune (a relative of a fallen soldier), shared: "Over the years, all levels and sectors in the area have always shown concern and care for families of war heroes. This year, I am deeply moved to receive 400,000 VND as a gift from the Party and the State on the occasion of the 14th National Congress of the Party and the Lunar New Year. This attention is a great source of encouragement for us people. I hope that in the new term, the Party will have more policies to care for and improve the material and spiritual lives of war heroes and vulnerable people in society."
Furthermore, currently, all levels of government, the Fatherland Front Committee, and mass organizations in the area are mobilizing resources to care for the people during Tet (Lunar New Year), focusing on war veterans, poor and near-poor households, and vulnerable groups in society. This demonstrates the concern of the Party and the State for all strata of the people with the motto "leaving no one behind," while also reflecting the tradition of "repaying gratitude," showing appreciation to war veterans, helping families have a warmer and more comfortable Tet, and giving them more motivation to strive for a better new year.
