Footage captured by the camera shows two sections of the bridge collapsing into the Ganges River. So far, the Indian authorities have not recorded any casualties.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar ordered an investigation and asked to identify those responsible for the incident.
Construction of a 4-lane cable-stayed bridge with a length of 3.160 meters and a path to the bridge with an estimated cost of 210 million USD was started by Prime Minister Kumar on February 23, 2. Part of the bridge also collapsed two years ago. Besides, the bridge also suffered some damage in April 2014 due to storms.
