An Giang: Authorities are searching for individuals involved in a fraud case that swindled farmers out of over 1.3 billion VND.

On June 4th, the Criminal Investigation Agency of the An Giang Provincial Police announced that it had issued a warrant to search for Huynh Van Thanh (born in 1981, residing in Phu Long commune, Phu Tan district) to assist in resolving a report of the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".

The suspect is Huynh Van Thanh.

Previously, the An Giang Provincial Police Investigation Agency received a complaint from a citizen: From December 2023 to April 2024, Mr. H.H.H.H. hired Huynh Van Thanh to purchase rice and guarantee the sale of agricultural products from farmers. Taking advantage of Mr. H.'s trust, Thanh signed contracts with many households; he requested Mr. H. to transfer money to pay deposits to the farmers. Mr. H. transferred money several times, totaling over 1.3 billion VND, to Thanh to pay the farmers, but Thanh embezzled the money and fled the area.

Currently, Thanh's whereabouts are unknown, and a search is needed to assist in resolving the crime report. The Criminal Investigation Department of the An Giang Provincial Police requests that individuals, agencies, and organizations with information about Huynh Van Thanh immediately notify the Office of the Criminal Investigation Department (address: 6 Ton Duc Thang Street, My Binh Ward, Long Xuyen City, An Giang Province), or investigator Huynh Van Vuong (phone number: 0968.941.901) for processing according to regulations.
