These days, the number of customers transacting at counters and withdrawing money at ATMs of the Vietnam Foreign Trade Commercial Bank - Thanh Hoa Branch ( Vietcombank Thanh Hoa) has doubled. The bank has arranged for staff to work overtime to meet the transaction demands of the people and avoid network congestion or transaction interruptions. In addition, the bank is also strengthening support for individual customers to complete biometric updates so that electronic payment transactions can proceed smoothly.
According to Pham Thi Thao, Deputy Director of Vietcombank Thanh Hoa branch: The bank has made thorough preparations to serve the needs of the people before, during, and after the Lunar New Year, including over-the-counter transactions and the maintenance of the entire ATM system; regularly monitoring and ensuring sufficient cash supply to meet the needs of the people. At transaction points, the bank has also assigned staff to open on weekdays until 6:30 PM and work on weekends to ensure 100% of customer payment transactions are processed smoothly.
As one of the banks with a widespread network throughout the province, Agribank boasts 3 Type I branches, 31 Type II branches, 34 transaction offices, 2 mobile transaction points using specialized vehicles, 88 ATMs/CDMs, and 495 POS machines. To ensure smooth operation and meet the financial needs of the people, Agribank branches in the province have proactively developed daily cash collection and disbursement plans, balancing the structure of cash disbursements to customers according to the regulations of the State Bank of Vietnam and in line with the actual situation of each unit. At the same time, they focus on investing in technology, regularly updating new features, ensuring safety and security, and strengthening infrastructure and personnel. The bank also implemented a series of attractive promotions during the Lunar New Year to encourage people to transact.
Along with efforts to ensure quick and convenient transactions for customers, credit institutions are also focusing on raising awareness and warning customers about the security of personal information and being vigilant against sophisticated fraud related to cashless transactions. With a system of 342 ATMs and over 4,000 point-of-sale (POS) terminals at retail outlets, distribution chains, hotels, restaurants, etc., commercial banks have developed plans to prepare resources and promptly implement appropriate measures to ensure the smooth, stable, and secure operation of automated teller machines 24/7. Customers should immediately contact the bank's branches or transaction offices if they detect fraudulent transactions or have any concerns or issues. This not only meets the needs of the people but also ensures monetary security and promotes local socio-economic development.
According to Tong Van Anh, Director of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) in Thanh Hoa, the SBV Thanh Hoa branch promptly issued a directive to credit institutions to effectively manage the circulation and supply of cash in the area. Accordingly, the SBV Thanh Hoa instructed banks in the province to base their plans on the transaction volume of each machine, salary payment plans, and the characteristics of each ATM/CRM location to ensure sufficient cash replenishment for cash withdrawals; and to use applications to monitor, supervise, and handle incidents when they arise. Based on this, banks have proactively implemented many solutions to meet the cash needs of individuals and businesses. At the same time, they have focused on the security of cash vaults, strengthened security personnel, and improved the capacity of staff at transaction points to handle security and safety situations.
In addition, the State Bank of Vietnam in Thanh Hoa will strengthen inspections, examinations, and supervision of the operations of credit institutions to ensure liquidity safety, vaults, transaction offices, assets, and banking operations; coordinate with relevant agencies to strengthen inspections and promptly handle violations in foreign exchange, gold trading, and new currency exchange services, as well as trading in small-denomination banknotes that do not comply with the law; and promptly handle situations arising in financial activities before, during, and after the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025.
