True to the slogan "Tam Ky - Come and explore", Tam Ky Sea Festival 2024 (taking place from June 14 - 30) has brought to the people and tourists many new and unique events and activities.
For the first time at Tam Thanh beach, the Carnival festival and the program "Larue Beer Concert" have stirred up the summer atmosphere.
In particular, the drone performance painted a colorful picture of light in the Tam Thanh sky, creating extremely impressive images and bringing an interesting experience.
These are familiar images to the people of Quang Nam such as Tam Thanh beach, An Ha hill, Tam Thanh mural village, or Quang Nam tourism brands such as Hoi An ancient town, My Son, Bai Choi specialties, Quang noodles...
A local resident shared that this was the first time he witnessed unique images right in Tam Thanh and he was very proud because the locality was increasingly developing and becoming known to many people.
According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Nam - Permanent Vice Chairman of Tam Ky City People's Committee, Tam Ky Sea Festival 2024 continues to introduce and promote the values, resources and tourism products of Tam Ky to visitors from near and far; contributing to promoting and attracting investment, creating momentum for economic - cultural - social development.
Over the years, the Party Committee, government and people of the city have been determined to build Tam Ky into a city rich in identity associated with the development of cultural, historical, ecological and experiential tourism based on natural landscapes, cultural and community values; an attractive and hospitable destination.
Typical examples include the Vietnamese Heroic Mother Monument complex; Ky Anh Tunnels National Historical Site; Bai Say - Song Dam, Tam Thanh Mural Village, Tam Thanh Beach...
Kite flying is also a specialty of this year’s Tam Ky Sea Festival, performed by members from the Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City Kite Clubs, attracting thousands of spectators. The kites filled with wind flying on Tam Thanh beach create poetic and exciting images for both children and adults.
According to Mr. Nguyen Phu Quoc - Chairman of Da Nang Kite Club, Tam Thanh beach is wide and is an extremely favorable condition for kite flying performances. He hopes that in the coming time, Tam Ky will develop further so that kite clubs from all over the country can come and perform for people during the festival season.
Although not new, the sports activities within the framework of the Tam Ky Sea Festival 2024 also have many different and attractive features, attracting a large number of viewers.
That is the Quang Dat traditional table tennis tournament organized by the city in coordination with the Quang Nam Province Table Tennis Federation, gathering many players from localities inside and outside the province; the martial arts arena of Quang Nam Province's traditional martial arts clubs opened at 24/3 Square.
In addition, some grassroots sports events have left an impression on the audience such as swimming and basket-shaking competitions on the sea; the Olympic running competition for community health "Tam Thanh with AIA - hello new day"...
Promote products “made in Tam Ky”
Organizing the event aims to develop tourism and create livelihoods for people, so in addition to cultural and sports activities, Tam Ky Sea Festival 2024 is also an opportunity to promote and introduce "made in Tam Ky" products with typical elements of local traditional craft villages.
During the festival days, although still modest in scale, the OCOP product booths at Tam Thanh beach are the address that many tourists come to visit and shop.
Anchovy fish sauce, dried anchovies, dried shrimp, dried fish, squid… are products imbued with the coastal character of Tam Thanh people that have gradually created a brand and spread outside the province.
Obviously, this is a valuable opportunity for local products to get closer to Tam Ky people as well as tourists inside and outside the province. At the same time, it helps tourists know about Tam Thanh, Tam Ky not only has clear blue sea, cool river but also has attractive traditional specialties.
The 2024 Tam Ky Sea Festival takes place almost parallel to the National Phu Dong Sports Festival Region III hosted by Quang Nam province; in which Tam Ky is the focal point for organizing competitions with thousands of athletes and coaches living, training and competing.
Thanks to the “favorable time and place” factor, among the visitors to the festival there were also quite a few athletes and coaches from other provinces and cities. Mr. Nguyen Binh (an officer of the Thanh Hoa province athletes’ delegation) shared that, upon hearing that Tam Ky was organizing a sea festival, he took the time to go see it and was impressed.
“Like Sam Son beach in Thanh Hoa, my hometown, Tam Thanh beach is quite beautiful, with many tourists swimming in the sea. Activities at the festival such as kite flying or basket boat shaking are also quite interesting.
I also visited and bought some traditional local craft products sold at the festival to bring back as gifts for relatives during my business trip to Quang Nam" - Mr. Binh said.
