Ancelotti says goodbye to Real.

On the evening of May 13th, coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed his departure from Real Madrid during a press conference ahead of the match against Mallorca in the 36th round of La Liga.

Ancelotti has confirmed he will leave Real Madrid at the end of the season.

"I will become the head coach of Brazil from May 26th. Everything in life has to stop. I have experienced the best time here," Ancelotti began the press conference. "I am still the coach of Real Madrid and I want to conclude this wonderful journey as best as possible, enjoying my final days with the team I love."

Ancelotti left as Real Madrid's most successful coach in history with 15 titles. He looked back on his six-year stint with gratitude: "We won so many games and those memories will stay with me for life. I never had any conflicts with the club, and I never will."

When asked about his current feelings, Ancelotti calmly replied: "Football and life are both adventures, and every adventure has a beginning and an end. I always knew this day would come. And now, I just want to finish it seriously and deservedly."

Ancelotti returned to "Los Blancos" in 2021, helping the club win two more La Liga titles, as well as lifting the Champions League trophy three times over two stints. However, Real Madrid has declined this season. The club was eliminated in the Champions League quarter-finals by Arsenal, lost to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey final, and is currently 7 points behind their arch-rivals in the La Liga race.

At the same time, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) finalized the appointment of coach Ancelotti. He became the first foreign coach in history to lead the national team. Ancelotti signed a contract until the end of the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Ancelotti's debut match with Brazil is scheduled for June 6th, against Ecuador in the South American World Cup qualifiers.
