Andrey Rublev has become the fifth player to officially qualify for the ATP Finals at the end of the season in Turin (Italy, November 12-19) after the Russian star defeated Matteo Arnaldi 7-5, 6-3 in the second round of the Vienna Open in Austria.

Previously, Novak Djokovic, along with Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, and Jannik Sinner, had already secured their places in the tournament for the eight best players in the world . The remaining three spots were contested by Stefanos Tsitispas, Alexander Zverev, Holger Rune, Taylor Fritz, Hubert Hurkacz, Casper Ruud, Tommy Paul, Alex de Minaur, Karen Khachanov, and Ben Shelton.
In the second round of the ATP 500 Vienna Open, fourth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas, despite facing only Tomas Machac, struggled to secure a victory in three sets with scores of 6-3, 4-6, 7-5.
In the second round of the ATP 500 Basel Open in Switzerland, Casper Ruud faced home player Dominic Stricker. The Norwegian star lost the first set 4-6, won the second set 6-3, but in the decisive third set, Casper Ruud lost 6-7 and was eliminated in a bitter defeat.
Top seed Holger Rune defeated Sebastian Baez 7-6, 6-1, while sixth seed Felix Auger-Aliassime beat Botic van de Zandschulp 6-4, 6-2 in the second round of the Basel Open.
