Over the years, Mr. Vi Van Dinh, born in 1984, from Ban Ha village, Chau Son commune, has successfully developed a diversified economic model. This has not only brought high income to his family but also created jobs for many local workers.
Mr. Dinh was born and raised in a farming family, whose life mainly depended on small-scale agricultural production, resulting in an unstable income. In 2004, he joined the military service, stationed in Military Region 1 (Thai Nguyen province). After two years, he was discharged and returned to his hometown.

With the dynamism of youth, he proactively sought out suitable economic models to increase his income. Recognizing the large area of forest land in the locality and the increasing demand for seedlings for reforestation, in 2009 he invested in building a forestry seedling nursery.
Initially, due to a lack of experience and proper seedling cultivation techniques, he faced many difficulties. The plants grew slowly, affecting production efficiency. Undeterred, he actively sought knowledge from books and newspapers and visited nurseries in Bac Ninh province to learn about seedling cultivation techniques. Through this, he gradually mastered the seedling cultivation process and applied it to his family's model to improve the quality and survival rate of the plants.
Sharing his experience in seedling propagation, Mr. Dinh said: "My family mainly propagates seedlings from seeds. For good plant growth, seed selection and processing are crucial. The seeds must be of high quality and have a clear origin. During the propagation process, attention must be paid to watering and covering to maintain consistent moisture. In addition, the grower needs to regularly inspect the garden, promptly detecting and treating any pests or diseases."
Currently, his family's nursery maintains efficient production; the seedlings are of guaranteed quality, so many households trust and choose them. On average, his family supplies about 2 million seedlings to the market each year, mainly acacia trees, bringing in a profit of over 250 million VND per year.
Besides developing his nursery, since 2011, Mr. Dinh has also invested in planting 5 hectares of acacia forest. From the very beginning of his reforestation efforts, he focused on applying advanced techniques to production. As a result, his family's forest area has developed well. To date, his family has successfully harvested three batches of acacia trees, generating an average income of 100 million VND per year. From this model of seedling cultivation and reforestation, his family earns a total income of over 350 million VND per year, creating jobs for 5 to 7 seasonal workers.
Not stopping at the two models mentioned above, his family is now investing in developing livestock farming in the direction of a farm. Accordingly, since the end of 2025, he has imported over 1,000 free-range chickens and more than 150 ducks. Sharing his plans for the future, Mr. Dinh said he will continue to invest and expand the scale of livestock farming, combined with maintaining the efficiency of the nursery and the existing forest area to diversify income sources and develop a sustainable economy.
Mr. Nguyen Cong Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Chau Son commune, said: "Mr. Dinh is a prime example of economic development in the locality. Not only has he boldly transformed his production model, but he has also pioneered the application of technology in seedling cultivation, reforestation, and livestock farming. In addition, he actively shares his experience and provides technical support to households in the village, contributing to the spread of good and effective practices."
Thanks to these efforts, in February 2026, Mr. Dinh was honored with a commendation from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for his effective economic development model, which actively contributed to poverty reduction and job creation for local workers. This serves as motivation for him to continue developing production and spreading the spirit of daring to think and act in economic development to the people in the area.
