Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen was born on March 1, 1923, in Quang Binh province; participated in revolutionary activities since 1938; in December 1939, became a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam . During more than 80 years of revolutionary activities, the Lieutenant General was assigned by the Party, State, and Army to undertake many important responsibilities in many fields.

Some relics of Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen
The posthumous award of the title "Hero of the People's Armed Forces" is a worthy recognition of the great contributions, merits and outstanding achievements of Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnamese people.
From 1966 to 1970, Huong Do commune, Huong Khe district was chosen by Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen, at that time Chief of the General Department of Forward Logistics and Commander of Truong Son Troops, to be the Command Post of the General Department of Forward Logistics, Command Post of the Forward Command of Group 559 and Group 500.
On August 22, 2005, the Ministry of Culture and Information decided to recognize the Front Command Relic - General Department of Logistics, Command Headquarters of Command 500 in Huong Do commune, Huong Khe district as a National Relic.
During his time here, Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen was always close to and concerned about the lives of the people here. Therefore, the people of Ha Tinh in general and the people of Huong Do commune in particular always have a special affection for Lieutenant General Dong Sy Nguyen.
