Tropical depression has entered Quang Tri.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, as of 4:00 AM this morning (September 26th), the center of the tropical depression was located at approximately 16.6 degrees North latitude and 107.2 degrees East longitude, over the land area of ​​Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue provinces. The strongest winds near the center of the tropical depression were at level 6 (39-49 km/h), with gusts at levels 7-8. It is moving in a West-Northwest direction at a speed of about 15 km/h.

Maintaining its direction and speed, the center of the tropical depression was located over southern Laos at 10 am this morning.

Due to the influence of the tropical depression, the sea area from Quang Binh to Da Nang (including Con Co and Cu Lao Cham islands) and the Gulf of Tonkin will experience strong winds of level 6, gusting to levels 7-8, rough seas, and waves 2-3m high.

In the South China Sea (including the waters around the Spratly Islands), and the sea area from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, there will be strong southwest winds of force 6, gusting to force 7-8, rough seas, and waves 2-4m high.

Meanwhile, on land this morning, coastal areas from Quang Binh to Da Nang experienced strong winds of level 6, gusting to level 7; further inland, wind gusts reached level 6.

According to the meteorological agency, from now until tomorrow (September 27th), the weather in the Central Central region will have moderate to heavy rain, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain, with rainfall generally ranging from 50-150mm, and some areas in Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue receiving over 150mm; the South Central region, the Central Highlands, and the Southern region will experience moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, with localized very heavy rain, with rainfall generally ranging from 40-80mm, and some areas exceeding 120mm.

From now until September 28th, the area from Thanh Hoa to Quang Binh will experience heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall amounts generally ranging from 200-400mm, and in some places exceeding 450mm.

Last night, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain, fell in the northern and central parts of Vietnam. Rainfall amounts from 7 PM last night to 2 AM this morning exceeded 100mm in some areas, such as Huong Trach ( Ha Tinh ) 195.4mm, Hoa Thanh (Quang Binh) 188.2mm, and A Luoi (Thua Thien Hue) 115mm…

At Con Co Island (Quang Tri), winds reached level 6, gusting to level 8. At Cu Lao Cham (Da Nang), winds reached level 7, gusting to level 8. Bach Long Vy Island (Hai Phong) and Ly Son Island (Quang Ngai) experienced strong gusts of wind at level 7. Coastal areas from Quang Binh to Da Nang experienced strong gusts of wind at level 6.

The meteorological agency warns that heavy rain will be concentrated from Ha Tinh to Binh Dinh and the northern Central Highlands. These areas have many ravines, so people need to be wary of the very high risk of flash floods and landslides.
