According to Engadget , Double Tap can help users perform certain pre-set actions by moving their fingertips (index and thumb) twice simultaneously without touching the Apple smartwatch screen.
The Double Tap feature is now available on Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2.
For example, if a user is wearing an Apple Watch on their left wrist and is holding something with their right hand but wants to answer (or end) a call or pause a listen, all they need to do is tap their left thumb and index finger together twice.
Notably, Double Tap also follows the Assistive Touch feature that appeared on Apple Watch devices in 2021. Apple designed this feature to help people who need to be on the go use their watches more easily by using hand gestures.
Currently, to update to the latest watchOS 10, users simply need to open their iPhone, go to the Apple Watch app, then go to General > Software Update and follow the instructions to complete the upgrade.
