Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese believes that whoever becomes the US President in the November election will still support AUKUS.

On September 21, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese expressed confidence that the trilateral defense treaty with the US and the UK (AUKUS) would be supported by any future US administration.
During his visit to the US, the Australian Prime Minister and US President Joe Biden held a private meeting to discuss bilateral defense cooperation in the Indo- Pacific region .
In a televised press conference from Philadelphia, Albanese said: "I have no doubt that AUKUS will continue to receive the support of any future U.S. administration."
Biden will hand over the presidency after the November 5th election to one of the two candidates: Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris or Republican former President Donald Trump.
Presidential candidate Donald Trump has declared he will take a confrontational approach to China and has expressed skepticism about Washington's traditional alliances. The US is Australia's closest security ally.
Prime Minister Albanese is in the US to attend the Quadrilateral Summit. Regarding this summit, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said that the four-way discussions will focus on three areas: security, stability, and opportunities.
"We will discuss how we can provide more support to developing countries in the region, including working together on climate change and supporting energy security. We will also discuss efforts in health and education to promote the development of Pacific island nations and other countries in the region," said Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
