Amazon Web Services (AWS), an Amazon company, has officially opened the third registration period for the AWS Generative AI Accelerator (GAIA) program, an eight-week program for early-stage startups globally, to support them in scaling up in building platform-generative AI technologies.
This year, 40 promising startups from around the world will be selected to participate in the program, which is scheduled to launch on October 13 at Amazon’s headquarters in Seattle. Registration is open from June 10 to July 10, and the list of selected startups will be announced on September 24, 2025.
As generative AI (Gen AI) tools become increasingly popular, AWS is focusing its efforts in 2025 on supporting startups developing generative AI technology, including building the models, infrastructure, refinement tools, and agentic workflows that will drive the next wave of innovation.
The program aims to accelerate these teams through a support package of up to $1 million in AWS credits, technical guidance and expert mentorship, go-to-market support, and access to the AWS generative AI ecosystem.
“We are entering a phase where virtually every startup will be using generative AI in some form in their business,” said Jon Jones, Vice President and Global Head of Startups at AWS. “So with this year’s accelerator, we are focusing on supporting startups that are developing the foundational technologies that will shape the future potential of AI.”
This year's program is part of AWS's ongoing commitment to driving innovation in generative AI globally, by providing disruptive startups with credit, mentorship, and the opportunity to scale with confidence, said Jon Jones.
The AWS Generative AI Accelerator is an eight-week hybrid program that includes alternating online sessions during a live opening day at Amazon headquarters in Seattle and a program culmination at AWS re:Invent 2025.
Startups developing large language models (LLMs), infrastructure tools, model-tuning platforms, or platform agents are especially encouraged to apply. Companies should have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), initial user or market feedback, and a strong technical team. No prior AWS experience is required, but startups building on AWS will have a significant advantage due to direct support for system architecture and go-to-market.
“AI Hay is developing generative AI models created by Vietnamese people, for Vietnamese people,” said Duc Tran, CEO of AI Hay, a startup that participated in the AWS Generative AI Accelerator 2024 program. “With this support, we have been able to scale from training models with 100 million parameters to advanced models with up to 32 billion parameters – something that was previously beyond our capabilities. These capabilities enable startups like AI Hay to deliver solutions faster, with more variety, and with greater impact.”
