During a patrol by Traffic Police Team No. 3, under the Tung Dien Traffic Police Station (responsible for the former Huu Lung district), on the Xuong Giang road section passing through the center of Huu Lung commune in early January 2026, after checking nearly 50 cases, the team discovered 2 cases of alcohol-related violations and issued citations for strict handling according to regulations.
The Tung Dien Traffic Police Station, under the Provincial Police Department's Traffic Police Division, is tasked with ensuring traffic safety on National Highway 1 and provincial and district roads within the communes (of the former Chi Lang and Huu Lung districts). The unit regularly and rigorously conducts inspections and takes action against violations related to alcohol levels while driving.
From December 15, 2025 to the present, traffic police forces throughout the province have detected and handled nearly 400 cases of violations related to alcohol concentration. |
Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Quang Duy, Deputy Head of Tung Dien Traffic Police Station, said: "Currently, National Highway 1 has the highest traffic density in the province. Checking and handling violations related to alcohol levels is always a priority for our officers and soldiers. The unit deploys 100% of its personnel to conduct patrols and controls throughout the area 24/7, strictly enforcing the law. At the same time, we are stepping up efforts to educate the public about traffic safety violations, especially the importance of not driving under the influence of alcohol."
It is known that the Provincial Police are currently carrying out a high-intensity campaign to attack and suppress crime, ensure security and order, and absolutely protect the security and safety of the 14th National Congress of the Party, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; the Lunar New Year of the Horse and other major national events and festivals in early 2026 (from December 15, 2025 to March 16, 2026). In this campaign, the traffic police force throughout the province will simultaneously launch inspections and strictly handle violations of traffic safety regulations, especially violations related to alcohol levels, with the motto "covering all areas, covering all times, no forbidden zones, no exceptions".
Lieutenant Colonel Phuong Thuc Dinh, Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of the Provincial Police, said: In order to strictly handle violations related to alcohol levels, patrol and control work has been deployed throughout the province, focusing on checking key traffic routes, densely populated areas, restaurants, eateries, karaoke bars, and even inter-communal roads... In addition to fixed checkpoints and overt patrol teams, the traffic police also deploy officers in plain clothes to conduct mobile patrols on roads with complex traffic safety situations to promptly detect and handle violations. Inspection shifts are arranged flexibly according to time slots. All activities are implemented seriously in the spirit of "three no's": no forbidden areas, no exceptions, and no days off. Since December 15, 2025, the provincial traffic police have detected and handled nearly 400 cases of violations.
Mr. Tran Van Huan, from Dong Kinh ward, shared: "As a resident who frequently drives vehicles, I strongly agree with the authorities' rigorous checks on drivers to ensure they are under the influence of alcohol. Driving after consuming alcohol greatly increases the risk of accidents."
In 2025, traffic accidents in the province decreased in three criteria; however, violations of traffic safety regulations still persist, especially violations related to driving under the influence of alcohol. In the coming period, the provincial traffic police force will continue to strengthen patrols and strictly handle traffic safety violations, particularly violations related to driving under the influence of alcohol.
