"Mrs. Nam promotes education"

With a warm and friendly smile, she happily recounted to us her youthful years dedicated to the cause of education . In November 2020, just four months after receiving her retirement notice, she was entrusted with the important responsibility of promoting education in her locality.

Ms. Nam shared: "By nature, I am an active and enthusiastic person. As long as I have my health, I want to contribute my small part to building my homeland. Therefore, when entrusted with a task, I always strive to be responsible and dedicated in every activity, actively coordinating with organizations, associations, businesses, and philanthropists to do a good job in promoting education and talent development. Because it is a necessary task that brings many benefits and contributes to nurturing the spirit of learning for future generations."

Ms. Nam, with her many years of experience as a school principal, understands that "a strong movement requires a strong organization." Therefore, she actively seeks out, mobilizes, and attracts people to participate in the movement to promote learning and talent, enhancing the effectiveness of community learning centers. The Hoang Trung Commune's Association for the Promotion of Learning has 1,068 members, accounting for 20.68% of the commune's population, belonging to 11 branches (7 village branches, 1 Catholic branch, and 3 school branches); and 43 family-based learning promotion committees. Thanks to Ms. Nam's advice in promoting learning through various channels such as conferences, seminars, and the radio system, the movement to build a learning society with practical learning models in the area is increasingly valued. Local authorities have launched numerous models such as "Learning Family," "Learning Clan," "Learning Community," "Learning Unit," and "Learning Citizen"... As living standards improve, many families in residential areas are increasingly focusing on their children's education, while also promoting learning at all ages. Many branches and clans in the commune have established scholarship funds of 30 million VND or more, operating effectively and meaningfully.

Sharing about the local education promotion activities, Ms. Nam said: The Education Promotion Association is a unique association with the task of supporting, motivating, and encouraging individuals who excel in teaching and learning, pass university entrance exams, and overcome difficulties to excel in their studies, self-cultivation, and training. However, the association's operating budget is quite limited, so she has applied a social mobilization approach, promoting the role of local branches and coordinating with agencies and units in the area to organize annual activities to reward and encourage individuals with outstanding achievements. In 2024 alone, the Hoang Trung Commune Education Promotion Association wisely used its existing funds to reward 79 students who won prizes at the district level or higher; and collaborated with the Z111 Factory to award 45 gifts to students who overcame difficulties and excelled in their studies, with a total value of 22.5 million VND. While the material value may not be much, it has practical significance in motivating the students to strive for success in their studies and lives.

Ms. Nam's dedication, passion, and responsibility in her work have contributed to many positive changes in the local education promotion movement, maintaining and developing the quality of mass education, stabilizing the quality of advanced education, and increasingly promoting the socialization of education. For many years, the quality of education in the locality has consistently been ranked among the top in the entire district, recognized by all levels and sectors.

For these contributions, Ms. Nam was honored to receive a Certificate of Commendation from the Prime Minister and numerous certificates of merit from various levels and sectors for her achievements in promoting education and talent development, and building a learning society.
